The reason I was suggesting he should shut down his twitter for a while like Foster did is because he's basically under a microscope from the media right now. Everything he tweets and posts on social media will get blown out or proportion or criticized for. Rather than saying "stop making stories out of non-stories", he could help his own cause by laying low for a while. It's a long off season and even after the NFL draft, some in the media will write or talk about anything for clicks/listeners. Just my 2 cents on it.
How lucky are we? This guys is a generational talent on the field and our one off-the-field gripe is that he posts his (numerous, neverending, superhuman) workouts on social media? Awesome, awesome problem to have. Also, the workout posts would bother me a lot more if it didn't directly translate into what he puts out on the field. Dude works out a lot and talks about it a lot = Douchebag Dude works out a lot, talks about it a lot, then puts his money where is mouth is and uses those workouts to perform wildly beyond expectations in his profession = Badass
lay low? why? lol...He isn't hurting anyone, he is giving inside access to his fans, and if you don't like it, unfollow him on social media...How one can find something wrong with what Watt does is just asinine
No it is called opinion. And his just happens to be different from yours. Some fans like the "inside access" or whatever you want to call it; some look at it as "doing too much". Some like the Andre Johnson's and some like the Odell Beckhams.
No one is forcing you to follow him though so why get all butt hurt about him posting stuff on his snapchat, instagram, twitter, etc? All those social media sites require you to follow him, by following him you're obviously saying you're interested in what he's going to post, if you like it keep following, if you dont then hit the unfollow/unsubscribe button.
I doubt any of the people complaining actually follow him. It's on all the major sport news sites, on sports radio, sports TV, etc. All I'm saying is I can understand how it can be annoying for some fans. It all boils down to whether you think he's being genuine or not. I could also say that if you don't like people complaining you can do the same and ignore them. But I won't.
It'll be interesting to see if he can stay healthy this season, after the issues he's had with his groin and back. There's going to be a lot of scar tissue on that groin as well...I'd hold my breath for half the season.
i remember how locals in radio gave foster a hard time for his social media interaction, then when he stopped being social, they got on him for that too. to get upset because of his posts is even sillier.
man took a snapchat (for fans) and media made a news story out of it. literally, they took a photo without any context and completely fabricated a narrative around a still photo. it's the media that is insufferable.
Is no one going to touch on the fact that he just passively broke up with Kate Hudson?!?! Savage.
Help for JJ. We saw the need for it last draft and when it didn't happen often enough we saw the results with a beat up Watt. Texans must get JJ some decent help on that line or his shelf life will be drastically reduced. Me personally, I want him to play at an elite level for as long as possible. For this reason I would be very happy if we go Dline first. Make it happen Rick.
If you truly have a problem with JJ Watt posting pictures to his fans, be it through Snapchat, Twitter, or Instagram... I think you are just jealous. Hell, I'm jealous, but I like the inside information. I think he does it to inspire people. Dream big, work hard. If you are a Houston Texans fan who feels this way, I feel sorry for you. He's the best thing that has happened to Houston football since the early 80's? Could you just be happy and thankful to be watching a one in a generation talent?
Try telling that to the media though. It's not really about fans. The media is going to continue to write stories in the offseason when there's nothing better to report on. He says he doesn't want stories written about him. The best way to prevent that is by not tweeting or using instagram. Or maybe just using it less all together. That's just what comes with the package of being a star, you get all the spotlight on you and with that comes the media side of things that will blow things out of proportion whenever they are bored and looking for clicks.
