The 1987 NBA All Star Game

    Two potential games played by, at best (assuming all eight series go the full seven), 53 percent of the league.

    I've got the 1988 All-Star Game on DVD. Love it, but it reminds a whole heck of a lot of the 2016 All-Star Game.

    It all comes down to a close contest, then things get interesting. Had the 1987 been a 20-point game things would have been silly per usual. One of the best All-Star Games ever was in 2001, and that featured maybe the worst All-Star roster in NBA history on the East's side (that's not revisionism, I wrote about that at Chad Ford's old website the week it happened) in the worst era of ball.

    All about a close game.

    This will never happen, but if you you want it to be competitive, simply state the winning conference gets home field advantage in finals.
