    You know what asset's value hasn't declined over the last month or so simply because of the fortunes of another team?

    Goran Dragic.

    And Goran Dragic would have been helpful toward actually competing for a title this year.

    Honestly the only true negative with getting the 18-19th pick instead of the 14th pick is that we won't be able to easily trade up in the draft.

    I thought we could possibly trade Dmo/14th Pick/31st Pick(from NYK) for like the 4th-7th range

    Yes he would have and I would love to have Goran Dragic on this team, but given his attitude toward returning to Houston, the unlikelihood that he'd stay beyond this season and the outrageous price it will likely cost to sign him into his mid-30's, I think they made the right decision.

    #14 and #19 doesn't make that much of a difference for Morey to draft. But it does make a lot of difference as a trade asset.

    That and the guy may be cursed. The Heat are currently the 9th seed in the East. Dragic could miss the playoffs yet again.
