U maybe live in 3 years ago, but now Sefolosha is more like the new Brewer Brewer could do everything in Uta, but now he can do nothing Young Sefolosha could do everything also, but now I don't know what he can do
I'll define "fell off" since you don't understand plain english: His shooting was horrific and his defense was much less effective. What he contributes on D is lost on the other end because OKC's opponent doesn't have to account for him. The opponent's best player is assigned to Thabo and takes a rest. If Thabo can't hit 3s, he isn't much better than Perkins. On defense, I'll ask you to define what it means to "take care of other team's best player" when said player lights him up like a Christmas tree. It's a sad fact sometimes that players lose a step. When it happens to a guy like Thabo, he goes from serviceable to mostly useless. Just the way it is. Lateral quickness leaves whenever it's good and ready. I don't have Rockets tunnel-vision and follow the league quite a bit. I think you are wrapped up in what Thabo represents vs. what he is now. We'll see how much he gets paid. What do you think he's worth? The comparison to Ronnie Brewer is a good one.
If Ariza could turn it around in Washington I think thabo has a chance to contribute for us. He's not that old and would be affordable coming off a poor postseason. It also would serve James well going at him in practice. For a good price I'm sure morey will take a hard look at signing Thabo.
If he can play, why will OKC let him go? If he can't play and OKC wouldn't sign him, why will the Rockets sign him?
Because neither OKC or the Rockets can tell the future. No one knows if he will bounce back or continue his decline, so teams are going to make bets, and Thabo is going to pick his team based on what those teams are willing to bet. For example, maybe OKC expect him to keep declining so they offer $3m while the Rockets expect him to bounce back so they offer him $4m. Either side can be right or wrong, including the player. So it's not like OKC let him go, or the Rockets acquired him. It's just valuations of what they expect in the future, which can be totally for the same player at the same time. How did you ever get to the simplistic viewpoint that players either can or can't play, and teams know this fact outright?
He's a fat turd this year. he's a 3 and D player who can't shoot 3s or play D. I would have wanted him after last year, but he's just terrible now for some reason.
In the end, it was between keeping Courtney Lee or getting James Harden. Good decision of you ask me, considering Lee has been pretty damn inconsistent since leaving Houston.
Does it really matter that Lee has been inconsistent? lol We'd still dump an ultra consistent Courtney Lee for this defensively challenged James Harden.
The reality isn't so simple logic, but the reason is just almost same. The Houston will not spent money on some role players who is maybe effective or ineffective. Morey would sign min vet for those role players, but can he sign $3m/year for those players like Sefolosha ? This chance is null.
