Seven abortion clinics and nearly a hundred thousand gun stores. Seems like a legit pro-life state to me.

 

Funny how Republicans like BigDeekkk whine about gov't interference and about how Blacks reproduce so much yet then champion the ability of gov't to force people to have babies they don't want.

 

I understand about the uninsured rates and hopefully that will change... But two-thirds of the abortions are done on minority babies (as of 2013) so I'm surprised bigtexxx cares so much about Black and Hispanic babies because it's no secret who abortion clinics/planned parenthood are geared to attack.

 

Why would it change?

Conservatives care about all hypothetical children. It's the actual children and in particular the poor children that they're not so fond of.

In layman's terms, the ruling requires abortion clinics to provide surgical center standards. The medical community says surgical center standards aren't necessary for abortion clinics. Government needs to stop controlling healthcare.

Well, in the post you responded to I said look at where a majority of the abortion clinics are set up. Around 78% of the planned parenthood abortion clinics are in minority communities. Black folks make up 12-14% of the population but 36% of the abortions are done on Black women. 52% of Black pregnancies end in abortion.

Regardless of what those so called Christians believe they are still helping Black Americans from being wiped out whether they know it or not. Liberals are doing the opposite whether they know it or not.

 

I dunno, maybe it has something to do with the statistics that states blacks have the highest unplanned pregnancy of all the ethnic groups (at more than double that of whites), almost double teenage pregnancy rate etc.

No body is wiping out the blacks or hispanics, nobody is conducting genocide on them. If the black & hispanic population is actually decreasing or not increasing than you might have a point, but that's not the case.

I think that's Hispanics but both have a high rate of teenage pregnancy... But what does that have to do with abortions... That seems like an educational problem (amongst other things like living conditions) because there's no such thing as an unplanned pregnancy if you're having unprotected sex.

That's the same thing I say to Black folks when they talk about how great of a president Bill Clinton was... But my point remains the same... I'm surprised to see the OP happy that abortion clinics are closing considering what groups of people they target.

 

Both blacks and hispanics have very high teen pregnancy and unplanned pregnancy rates. This has everything to do with the abortion rates, teenage pregnancies overwhelmingly tend to be unplanned pregnancies and unplanned pregnancies are far more likely to be unwanted than planned pregnancies.

Can't say I agree with your viewpoint regarding unplanned pregnancies and unprotected sex. Let's not forget that even with unprotected sex, the odds of getting pregnant is very small.

That's like saying there's no such thing as an unplanned car accidents because every time you get behind a wheel you know there's a chance that you'll hit another car or another might hit you.

 

Not according to the teenage pregnancy rates you brought up... I'm not saying people intend on getting pregnant but when you plan on having unprotected sex then you should also plan on getting pregnant and or contracting a STD because those could be the results regardless of the odds.

And that's why you use your seatbelt and have small children in car seats because you're planning for an accident (or just to keep from getting a ticket). That doesn't mean you intend on having one but you're still prepared just in case.

 

No one is forcing black women to have abortions. No one is targeting black women or minority women.

Why are most abortion clinics in black areas?

A variety of reasons, one of the chief reasons being that wealthier areas, which tend to be "white areas" fight to keep abortion clinics out of their neighborhoods. Also, the "white areas" tend to be more pro-life and have politicians that are fighting against Planned Parenthood and other such organizations.

Why do more black women have abortions? Well, how many of those pregnant black women have husbands? How many are employed? How many of those black women have strong family support systems? How many have the financial means to support a child?

For example, why do black Americans use condoms at a higher rate than white Americans? Could it be because they cannot count on the financial support and family support that white Americans can? White Americans are married and in longer term relationships at a higher rate. Does that explain condom usage rates?

Also, why do African American women have a far higher rate of STD's than white women? Is it some master plan? No, it most likely a byproduct of white people having better access to medical care and being more likely to treat STD's and control the outbreak.

Then if you break it down based on income and education and what happens? The racial divide on the issues goes down to within the margin of error.... there is virtually no difference in the divide.

So you keep thinking that Planned Parenthood is a systematically targeting minorities instead of looking deeper.

 

More importantly, Planned Parenthood is far more than abortions. Planned Parenthood is mostly just an affordable health care option for women and is designed to target areas that lack access to affordable health care. That's why, for example, George H.W. Bush was a big Planned Parenthood supporter. In spite of his opposition to abortion, he was smart enough to recognize that Planned Parenthood was a critical piece in ensuring basic access to affordable health care for the poor and underserved.

They "target" the poor because that is literally their target demographic. People in wealthy neighborhoods have the means to have a primary care doctor and access to other types of physicians. It just so happens that Planned Parenthood also performs abortions and co-locates the abortion clinics at its existing facilities.

 

Which is exactly why the GOP is rightfully seen as anti-women.

The government gave poor White folks cheap housing loans, social security, GI Bill, etc. that was backed by taxpayers money (which Black folks contributed to) but they didn't let practically any Black folks participate in those things but they gave them planned parenthood instead while they built up the White middle-class.

So you keep believing your white-washed version of history in this country instead of digging deeper.

 

Jesus man... No one is stating that African Americans had of history of unequal opportunity.

Planned Parenthood isn't one of those institutions.
