The Longhorns just don't care do they? Gotta give em credit for going full-steam ahead. They don't even want to act like they care if Mizzou leaves or not because if there was any doubt in Mizzou's mind, this should send them packing. http://www.statesman.com/sports/9-things-and-1-crazy-prediction-for-this-1879240.html
haha ... Let me know when Baylor beats a team in the tournament that doesn't have a double-digit seed. You wish Baylor had the success of A&M in the last 6 years. By the way, in those 6 years, last year was the first one and done.
One win followed by a loss And please that Baylor team was legit. Shady officiating cost us the game against Duke.
haha ... I'm just messin with you ... I'll give you that was a good team, and its not their fault they didn't get to play a good team before they had to play the #1 team. That said, I'll take sustained success even though we've only had 1 sweet 16. One of these years, Drew won't screw up and throw away all of his 5 Star talent.
Thank god this thread will never die. When A&M is only winning 4 of 5 games year in and year out, none of you will be bragging about how much fun you are having playing Florida and LSU. The sex appeal of the SEC will ware off and you will sober up. You'll become the Kansas St. of the division. What's worse, you will open up the SEC to texas football players hurting every school in the state. You like lists? Here's one. A&Ms record in the last 10 years. At no point were you close to competing for the South title. 9-4 6-7 4-8 7-6 9-4 5-6 7-5 4-8 6-6 8-4 It's really disgusting that some of you are rooting for the big 12 to fall apart. At least try and have a little class when you feel like you are moving on to bigger and better things.
Is the SEC not recruiting in Texas right now? How, exactly, does this open up recruiting in Texas? Did kids not know about Florida or LSU before today? Are kids going to be excited about going to Florida now because A&M is in the conference?
hmmm ... Considering A&M finished in a first place tie for the Big XII South last season and only didn't go to the championship game because of the BCS standings, I'd have to say that you are blatantly wrong and have no clue what you are talking about.
Maybe. But settling with NU/CU is not binding on the Big XII and if the bylaws allow them to impose a stipulated penalty, they'll have that option. Whether or not they exercise that option is a different argument. But as others have posted, the circumstances between their exit and A&M's have been very different. Should be interesting to see what the final outcome is.
The same 20,000 hot chicks will be in DKR whether it's to see North Texas or Alabama. It's probably better for everyone if they get drunk and happy rather than drunk and sad,
In the end, regardless of what happens. Texas will still be the richest football program in the nation, be located in the best city in Texas, get the best recruits, and play in a packed stadium; and Texas A&M will still be Aggie.

um, no i didn't. if i did, i had a crazy combination of drugs and alcohol going through my system. isn't even favorite sports memory, much less best day of my life. that's pretty pathetic you would make something up like that.
Reposted for truth. You can look at the Fran years all you want, but it is not instructive as to the state of the program now. Last year is a better look, as is our current recruiting effort.
Statement is no wilder than saying A&M will have a major recruiting boost from TX kids that want the SEC...the same kids that have typically been ok going to those schools anyway.
Except at least there's a logic to that argument - the idea that people want to play in the SEC but can now do it without leaving Texas. And we have evidence of at least one real life person that is reconsidering. You can argue whether it's a small or big group of people and how much of an effect it will have, but it's there. I'm still waiting to understand what the underlying logic is of how A&M joining the SEC opens doors for the other SEC schools in Texas.
Texas A&M games are watched a lot in Texas. The opponents are getting publicity from playing them on TV. It is like having a 3+ hour commercial.
