I guess. You could look at it like "if a team can win a super bowl with so much turnover at the QB position, then there is hope for the Texans" :)

And why don't the broncos/ elway get more criticism for trading up and drafting Lynch? So far dude is a bust.

If they win a super bowl they'll see the narrative changes lightning fast

Buuuuuuuut they also got some pretty good years out of Manning before he broke down. One record-breaking year.

That's called "mediocre" if it was the Texans and it didn't end up with a championship.

Just realized after reading this pft article.. due to the current state of the browns and texans, we basically gave up:

-Very low 2nd rounder (equivalent of high 3rd rounder)
-The top 4th rounder (equivalent of very low 3rd rounder)
    +shredding 16mil

I can forgive mistakes, and was actually intrigue of acquiring Osweiler last year too. Huge props on being able to move on quickly and maneuver this trade.

We get a 4th rounder, not give up a 4th rounder.
    We gave up a 2017 6th rounder and a 2018 2nd rounder

All in all, it's a good trade! If we can get Watson or Mahomes in the draft...I'm ecstatic!

We got their compensation 4th, so not the top 4th rounder.

Still smh that we sold a second round pick for $10 mil in capspace this year and $6 mil next year

Eh at least they bit the bullet and moved on. Nobody, including the players, wanted Osweiler in the locker room this upcoming season. I don't ever like giving up top 3 round picks but what's done is done. Getting the comp picks for losing Bouye and others next year helps mitigate the loss of the most likely low 2nd rounder. Now that teams can trade comp picks the Texans can pair two 3rd rounders together next year if they badly want someone in the second.

Now no one wanted him in the locker room? There was nothing about him being a bad teammate.

Look, he sucked, but he is good enough to be our third string QB.

    Serious?

It has been one season and he wasn't terrible in his limited playing time.

Terrible enough to where he couldn't beat out Trevor Siemian last year and terrible enough to where the team is looking for someone like Romo or Cutler this season.....

O'Brien didn't like him. Neither did some of the players. A good recipe for a toxic locker room especially if you bring another QB into the mix.

He was never viewed as a day 1 starter (a lot of people said 2-3 years before he would be ready). Cutler and Romo are proven commodities, which they would be crazy not to entertain given they won a Super Bowl with Osweiler and the ghost of Peyton Manning.

Well feel free to hold out hope that one day he'll look good enough to be on an NFL field.

Great some guys on Twitter based on leaks from O'Brien.

No player said he was a locker room problem.

O'Brien just started him in the playoffs even though Savage was ready.

And most free agents are already gone. What are we spending this extra capspace on?

look at it this way, it was like we traded a 2nd for Brock. which might have been his value before the season. it didn't work out and we moved on. it happens. i'm not against the idea of keep trying to find a QB every year until you find one. It's a numbers game, got to hit on one of these right? lol
