Great, we are slowly accumulating all the have been's and wannabe's at the QB position! One thing is for sure, competition is going to be fierce, because none of our ( 4) QB'S is really better than the rest! I'm hoping this is not what we are going to war with...:(

Don't worry, give it 2 games with Fitz starting and you'll wish Schaub was back.

Only the second best signal caller in Houston who went to Harvard imo

If you define stop gap as being a poor mans Matt Schaub then you are right. Most important thing is Fitz went to Harvard and had a very high wondelic so im sure that will translate into wins............

What about Fitzpatrick makes you think that a QB taken at #1 would automatically sit?

The plan was ALWAYS to sign a vet QB. We've known that for awhile. Slight chance we would've kept Schaub, but barring that we were always going to bring in a vet. So this was expected. Nothing has changed. It doesn't change the draft strategy. If they were thinking of taking a QB #1 before, they're still thinking it now.

I just don't get it. If we all knew we were going to bring in a vet and we thought there was a pretty good chance that they'd take a QB #1 (or at least strongly consider it), how does signing Fitzpatrick change any of that? It doesn't. Most people thought we'd sign a vet AND draft a rookie #1. If they Texans think they can get a franchise QB at #1, the presence of Ryan Fitzpatrick on the roster doesn't deter them in the least.

What about any QB in this class makes you think that any of them could start right away?

Can we just fuse Bridgewater-Bortles-Logan Thomas into one

Take that qb first and be set for 15 years???

You guys saying this signing means anything with regards to the draft are crazy. Bob said at the end of the season that they'd be bringing in a veteran QB.

    Good backup signing.

That all but cements Schaub's future.

I agree a vet was needed. But they missed the boat on McCown. He is the better vet and it's really not close. If the salaries are close then it's a dumb move.

You don't even need bortles. Bridgewater's accuracy pocket presence and footwork with Logan's size, speed, running ability and arm strength. That's the best qb in the history of the game.

You would need someone with better footwork and throwing motion in the mix.

pretty sure McCown wanted to start and I'm not sure Texans are offering that.

    Exactly.

Lol at you turds expecting Fitz signing as an actual starter.

The Clowney crowd is looking for any inkling of a QB inking being a sign at showing the Texans hand in the draft. Dumb.
