I don't approve of the way the Texans handled this deal, either (being very public during the whole courtship). But I like black people, so it's all good.

Smith is a good GM. He isn't Ozzie Newsome, BB good... but if you look at his drafts they are solid and he has been smart spending money. A lot of times the PR decisions and continuity issues are made over Smith's head.... And for the guy that said passing on Major Wright was a mistake, he needs to get his head out of his ass.

Welcome to the Houston Texans Ed Reed!

Please divulge how the Ravens shut down Tom Brady.

Texans sign Ed Reed part 2

My apologies to J.R. for closing his thread but that one got derailed and was pretty much not salvageable. Let's try this again. The Texans have signed Ed Reed comment away, but keep it on topic.

Supposedly a 2 year deal and not the 3 year/$12 M offer that had been rumored before.

Its guaranteed 6-7 mill over two years... So likely its a 2 year 9-10 year deal with, obviously, 6-7 guaranteed... I like it, allot... Bring in a safety early in the draft for reed to groom... Go offense heavy in the draft... Maybe even trade ben tate for a 2 or 3...

That is the maximum, not sure how obtainable it is. It is about what I expected when it was leaked we wanted him. Shouldn't have a whole lot of capspace left unless we restructure. I do hope we are able to scour the bargain bin for depth.
