Too early in the story to know what the deal is, but this sounds like a player's "people" trying to make sure another team picks him up.

We won't know what this waiving says about the organization, if anything, until we have more info than a few leaks from a player's camp. What was the history? Was this the first, ever violation for these guys? What is the claim made by the team? Mind you, the team isn't likely to publicly say for professional reasons.

The on the field outcome says more about the current regime than waiving a few knuckle heads does.

pretty hard to believe they were just smoking "cigars" in the bathroom. they rolled up a swisha and got caught. happens to the best of us. just sucks that we need the depth and i actually thought jefferson had some talent.

No kidding. How dumb can you get? The season is going down the toilet faster than the joint they flushed. They were due to get playing time at this rate. Morons.

Up to no good? I agree they were smoking weed but you think they should be cut because of it? What bad are they doing? They are chilling before bed and watching tv....

    But let's cut them anyways:rolleyes:

Any reason they could not be tested before being released?

I mean the test takes what .. . 3 days . . why not make sure

They were probably caught red handed. The team is trying not to flush their careers down the same toilet by airing their dirty laundry. Which I give them some credit for doing.

I remember right after the draft reading that another team's anonymous front office guy was "shocked" that the Texans drafted Montgomery in the 3rd round, and that he couldn't believe that the Texans would have done so if they had done all of the personal background checks.

They definitely deserve blame for that pick.

Though the team is probably grateful that they had a discipline issue they could use as cover so they didn't have to admit they blew it on the talent evaluation on a third round pick.

Sam Montgomery says he walked into a hotel room where Jefferson & Wood were smoking a cigar. Went to team meetings and was called by Kubiak
