He looks for ways to shame the Texans? You sure about that? He did a podcast where he says he had issues with the front office but not the coaching staff and players. He did an interview where he said money wasn't the only reason he is no longer a Texan. I'm not sure where you're getting this from. Of course he didn't like the way his time with Houston ended; he was holding out for almost half a season. But you can't ignore that he and Derek played on the line together for a long time. He could have gone the Brandon Brooks and Lane Johnson method and directly talked about the organization. He very easily could have done that and people would understand. He didn't. He took the "high road" and just focused on his former teammate during this difficult time for him. Yet you still want to dump on him?

Duane Brown has proven time and time again that he's a piece of **** so no, he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.

why these dudes act like they don't play in the nfl where this type of business is business as usual? since they don't do it for every team/player then it makes them look like haters instead of actually concerned about day to day nfl business. also, wasn't it brooks' eagles that gave their star LB a shitty majority un-guaranteed contract that the entire nfl media mocked? i didn't see it but did brooks call out his own team and gm for basically giving their star lb what was it a 1 year 5 million deal? that's **** for such a dangerous position and dangerous game when you're one of the best in the league.

i applaud brooks' concern but let's see it for all teams players otherwise he just a hating little b****.

Brooks left the Texans and won a Super Bowl........ Gary Kubiak left and won a Super Bowl....... Bob McNair and the Texans have not won a Super Bowl. In fact they have never won more than one playoff game in a season.

So who is toxic and who is completely incompetent?

Maybe because this is a former teammate? Plus the Texans could have handled it better. No matter what other teams are doing, it's not a good look. Just because it is allowed doesn't mean it can't be criticized. I would have had a nice presser released thanking him for his time as a Texan, sorry for his injury, and wish him the best. Maybe even go as far as paying him the $500K since he agreed to take a paycut from the contract both parties signed.

I guess they should have just released him a year ago instead of letting him collect a paycheck and rehab with all those doctors? People will find anything to complain about.

Because it sucks. If you were in his shoes, you wouldn't be happy either. Other players know what it is and they're expressing their love for him. And yes, it would have been a better look to work out an injury settlement with him months ago.

That's quite the simple minded way of looking at it. Good job.

Kubiak collected toxic players here in Houston, and they quit on him and got him fired. He then went to a team of different players and won the SB.

One of the toxic players that quit on the team here in Houston went to a different team and managed to not screw it up.

These facts don't dispute the fact that Kubiak collected toxic players in Houston that quit on the team. It also does not dispute the fact that it's a good thing that those toxic players are gone.

Not this thread. You literally just brought it up in this topic. Plus if you don't like what people are saying...hit the ignore button; instead of complaining about the "complainers".

That is a little different. For one, both player and team agreed on that contract. The player could have refused to sign it and gone elsewhere. Second, this is different because Newton is a player that is in a very low place. Major injury, major surgery, struggling through rehab, agreed to a paycut, and then the team reneged on the contract. I know it happens and it is part of the CBA but it still stinks. And just like Sherman thought the deal with Bradham stunk, Brooks thinks the deal with his former teammater and co-starter on the offensive line stinks.

Although it came out of left field, it’s worth noting that fans like you are the reason the NFL is going downhill.

It's exactly the opposite honestly. Fans who b**** and whine about SJW nonsense are the reason the league is going downhill. Other fans just want to watch football.
