It's been 3 games, man. Show me 15 NFL teams that are getting great contributions from their first 5 picks this year. Where are they? Lets list them.

Y'all would have crucified Newton if you could, now y'all love him.

You guys overreact like it's your job.

Hate to beat a dead horse but we all saw this coming in the preseason and yet they decided to cut Ricardo Matthews. That was purely a coach's decision not Rick's. They put too much hope in Powe.

There's a reason Pickett is a free agent. Don't get you hopes too high up.

    How so?

Nix hasn't played a single snap this season and Pickett will probably play immediately, so it seems like it actually means LESS Powe.

The problem with Pickett is that with him on the field, while we'd be better against the run up the middle, we'd be VERY susceptible to getting burned by the hurry up defense because we'd get stuck with him out there and he's not in any way a guy you want out there for more than 2 downs or so at a time.

It won't be judged for a while.

But this team could not afford to miss much in this last draft if it was going to improve this season dramatically from 2-14.

This draft doesn't seem to be lending to the idea that it's going to play a big role in the improvement of this team this season. I'll just be happy if we get Clowney back and keep him healthy, frankly.

Amazing how unlucky (bad?) this team in the draft. I am far from a draft expert, but in this past ClutchCity mock draft, picking for a team late in the order, I came up with one impact starter (Cooks), two starters via injury (Richburg and Sutton), and one player that at least has hit the field (McGill, caused a fumble). Only one was held out due to an injury (Desir, knee) and two were cuts (Smallwood and Smith).

Well glad that Rick Smith actually did something of worth...and signed Pickett...Teams arent running side to side...they are running up the middle for 4-5 yard gains.

Good times are coming folks, the Texans will fully understand what they have on defense once Clowney comes back...Pickett is the ideal NT for Romeo. Too bad he is kinda old...

In regards to Nix, there must be serious issues with his knee. Seems to be a really nice dude, but this was a high risk/high reward 3rd round draft choice. If the Texans had a chance to do it again, they make the same draft. Hoping the big fella has a chance to fully recover and try his luck next season.

3 games into the season. How much surgery will this draft class need?

Not as if the team might have thought, we need help 'now' rather than a wish and a kiss. I hope it is not so, but based on past Texans experience, we will be lucky to ever see Nix play a full season.

You draft players with health issues in college, it's not surprising when they have health issues as a pro. Texans took a risk on a couple of guys, and so far it hasn't turned out so well.

Coachspeak for we f'ed up this pick and he isn't anywhere ready to help us this year so we can stash him on IR and pick up someone that might help us without having to cut him.

This. By the way O'Brien has been talking about him all year he was likely taking up a roster spot and they couldn't cut him because he was drafted so high.

I was super pumped about this draft but it's not going well so far. Top pick can't stay healthy. Su'a-Filo can't crack the starting lineup, and if you get drafted at #33 as a lineman he was expected to come in and start. At least Fiedorowicz and Blue look like solid contributors.

Texans have 1 new draftee making contributions. Everything can still work out in the end though.

Always cheer for my squads and hope things work out... it usually doesn't.

OBie in his Wednesday presser said that Nix had an injury situation and would need to get surgery.

IIRC being put on IR means that Nix is out for the rest of the season.

No you are not expected to come in an start. Not to long ago #1 picks were expected to come in and sit the bench the first year, and now EVERYONE you take in the top 3 rounds has to come out and start day 1? It does not work like that, even more so when you have an offense that is this complex and changes week to week.

Su'a-Filo will be a monster for us down the road, but some people it just takes time to get acclimated.

Nick Wright did this on the radio today...he said we have had the least contribution from our rookies than any team in football.
