I would think Bortles or Johnny. They are his type of QBs.

One GM, one opinion, blah blah blah

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Jimmy Haslam signing the praises of 2014 <a href="https://twitter.com/nfl">@NFL</a> Draft. Had a GM tell me last night it reminds him of the 2011 draft when it comes to QBs. Ouch</p>&mdash; Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/statuses/417711888563048448">December 30, 2013</a></blockquote>

(2011 class: Cam Newton, Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, Christian Ponder, Andy Dalton, Colin Kaepernick, Ryan Mallett, Ricky Stanzi, T.J. Yates, Nathan Enderle, Tyrod Taylor, Greg McElroy)

2014 class could match it if Manziel, Bortles, and Carr live up to the hype. Only Cam, Kaep, and Dalton are impact starters.

What was the point of the "Ouch" at the end of the tweet? I mean, the 2011 QB class had several very good quarterbacks, and the three best ones are currently in the playoffs.

Not a great QB class (outside of those three) but maybe referring to the Locker, Gabbert and Ponder picks - all top 15 picks.

Well, we'll have our pick of the crop. Hopefully we don't end up with a Gabbert

that's cute.... like these GM's have any clue what they are doing. I'm sure this clown passed on Russell Wilson 3 times.

I say trade the pick for multiple draft picks and some key players.

This is the plan and Keenum becomes a star under O'Brien.

I'm always wary of QBs who seem to come out of nowhere the season before the draft. IIRC, Bortles was initially projected as a 4-6 round draft pick going into the season. A month ago he was still a 2-3 projection. Now he could go in the top 5. I'd be more comfortable who's always been projected as a high first rounder. Seems like there's less bust potential there.

Exactly...for years, nobody thinks that highly of Bortles and all of a sudden, people say he has the tools to become the best in class. Please.

i like teddy but i think we gotta take the best player available...which is jadaveon. im a fan of Louisville and I'm honestly not THAT ecstatic with Teddy's play over the years. Has it been good? Sure. But we never play elite competition. I'm not saying we s hould take Johnny because he does play against elite D, but ppl are drooling over Teddy's last game. Miami was ranked like 90th in the country in D.

I just think we gotta take the best player available. secure our D for the next decade with Jadaveon and JJ.

for the next decade? assuming clowney is the real deal, youre gonna have 2/5th of your cap tied to D-ends? what makeshift low salary qb is part of this plan?

Kind of interesting looking at the ratings of top rated QB's in the 2011 draft from ESPN. It's honestly just a crap shoot.

    Cam Newton 93
    Jake Locker 90
    Blain Gabbert 96
    Chritian Ponder 85

    Bridgewater 92
    Bortles 91
    Manziel 90

lol, bortles and manziel are polar opposites...

the only thing they have in common is... they're white.

not sure what you are trying to say about O'Brien.. :/
