I hope they wait and go after those patriots execs when their season is over. That organization needs a shakeup and it sounds like it’s coming

    Have Smith basically demoted.
Hire Peyton Manning to run the organization. He whooped our ass for the first 10 years of existence, smart dude that can make up for shitty McNair image.

EDIT: Also Peyton mentoring Deshaun? C'mon that's great!

Promoted to director of player personnel on March 21, 2016, Brian Gutekunst enters his 19th season with the Green Bay Packers’ player personnel department. He spent his first 13 seasons with the club as a college scout, serving as an East Coast regional scout for his first two years (1999-2000), before switching to the Southeast region (2001-11) and most recently serving as director of college scouting (2012-15).

Possessor of prior professional scouting and college coaching experience upon joining Green Bay on a full-time basis late in 1998, Gutekunst gained his first NFL experience in the summer of 1995, when he assisted the coaching staff of the New Orleans Saints with the offensive line during training camp. Gutekunst’s initial exposure to the Packers came in the summer of 1997, when he worked as an intern in the team’s scouting department.

His first full-time appointment in professional scouting was in 1998 as a scouting assistant for the Kansas City Chiefs. After one year with the Chiefs, Gutekunst returned to the Packers when he was named a college scout on Dec. 30, 1998, for the East Coast by then-Executive Vice President/General Manager Ron Wolf.

Gutekunst earlier had played two years of college football for the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He then became an assistant coach for the team during his final two years at the school (1995-96) after a shoulder injury cut short his playing career. Serving as a linebackers coach during the 1995 season, he helped the school to the Division III national championship as the Eagles finished with an unblemished record of 14-0. Gutekunst majored in sports management.

Joe Douglas, who was hired by the Eagles on May 11, 2016, enters his second season as vice president of player personnel.

Prior to joining the Eagles, Douglas spent the 2015 season as the director of college scouting for the Chicago Bears after working in the Baltimore Ravens’ personnel department for 16 years (2000-15).

During his time in Baltimore, Douglas was instrumental in acquiring a number of key performers for the Ravens, both through the draft and during the undrafted free agent signing period. Some of the players that he had a hand in obtaining included QB Joe Flacco, G Ben Grubbs, LB Pernell McPhee, LB C.J. Mosley, K Justin Tucker, CB Lardarius Webb and G Marshal Yanda. Grubbs, Mosley, Yanda and Tucker have combined for 12 Pro Bowls with the Ravens.

“I have known Joe for several years and have admired his work with both the Ravens and the Bears,” said Howie Roseman, Eagles executive vice president of football operations. “He is a guy that we had targeted from the outset. I feel that we are very fortunate to have him lead our player personnel department. [Ravens general manager] Ozzie Newsome and [Bears general manager] Ryan Pace spoke very highly of him and his work. He is passionate about football, passionate about scouting and he played a vital role in the success of the Ravens over the last decade.”

As a member of the Ravens organization, Douglas held various posts which included serving as the club’s national scout (2012-15), Southeast area scout (2009-11), East Coast area scout (2008) and Northeast area scout (2003-07). Douglas was first hired by Baltimore in 2000, where he worked as a player personnel assistant for three years. He was responsible for fall and spring scouting assignments, college workouts and draft visit coordination, managing the team’s college video library and assisting the pro personnel department with special teams evaluations of club opponents and unrestricted free agents.

An All-Atlantic 10 selection, Douglas started 45 consecutive games at tackle for the University of Richmond. Following his collegiate playing career, he transitioned into a volunteer assistant coach with the Spiders’ football team in 1999.

As an offensive lineman at Lee-Davis High School (Mechanicsville, VA), Douglas was recognized as a two-time all-state honoree.

Nick Caserio was named director of player personnel on Feb. 21, 2008, after serving in a number of roles for the Patriots' personnel department and coaching staff. He enters his 17th season with the Patriots in 2017 and his 15th season in player personnel. In 2007, Caserio served as the Patriots' wide receivers coach following a three-year stint as the team's director of pro personnel (2004-06). Caserio is also credited as one of the architects of the Super Bowl XLIX and Super Bowl LI champion New England Patriots, the Super Bowl wins in his current position.

In Caserio's 16 seasons with the club, the Patriots have qualified for the Super Bowl seven times with five wins, captured 14 AFC East crowns and qualified for the playoffs in every year except in 2002 and 2008. Caserio has been instrumental in drafting, signing and developing players who have become cornerstones of one of the most successful NFL franchises of all time. In addition to his time in the player personnel department, Caserio returned to the field in 2007 to coach the wide receivers, a season in which the offense broke many NFL records en route to an undefeated regular season.

Caserio joined the Patriots in June of 2001 as a personnel assistant and celebrated the Patriots' first Super Bowl title that season. During that year, his role was expanded to include film breakdown and scouting report preparation for the offensive staff. He became an offensive coaching assistant on Bill Belichick's staff in Feb., 2002, and returned to player personnel in 2003 as an area scout prior to becoming director of pro personnel in 2004. In addition to his duties in the personnel department, Caserio handled press box responsibilities for the coaching staff on game days from 2003-06.

Caserio entered the coaching ranks as a graduate assistant at Saginaw Valley State University in 1999 and spent two seasons with the program. Following a brief time with Central Michigan as a graduate assistant in the spring of 2001, he joined the Patriots scouting department.

Caserio was a standout player at John Carroll University, starting at quarterback in each of his four seasons, as the team compiled a 33-7-2 record. He was a two-time captain and three-time All-Conference performer. In 1997, he helped to lead the Blue Streaks to a 10-2 record and the school's second appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament, where it advanced to the national quarterfinals. He was college teammates with former NFL linebacker London Fletcher, Patriots offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Josh McDaniels, assistant quarterbacks coach Jerry Schuplinski and director of pro personnel Dave Ziegler at John Carroll.

Caserio is a native of Lyndhurst, Ohio. He earned his degree in finance from John Carroll and later earned his Master's of Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State. Caserio was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection at John Carroll.

GM Brandon Beane confirmed the hiring of Brian Gaine as Vice President of Player Personnel.

Gaine interviewed for the Bills general manager position when the Pegulas were trying to fill that post a couple of weeks ago, but Beane, who has known Gaine for the past five years took what he called a “shot in the dark” to land the Houston personnel executive.

“It’s generally a pretty lateral move, but Brian was excited about building this and starting this,” Beane told Buffalobills.com. “I think partnering with me and Joe was attractive. I know Brian and who he is to the core and trust that he’s going to be a big time asset.”

Gaine, who was most recently the Director of Player Personnel with the Houston Texans, has 18 years of NFL personnel experience.

Along with Houston GM Rick Smith, Gaine has helped to assemble one of the most talented defensive rosters in the league. He supervised all pro player evaluation, the advance scouting process, free agency and the monitoring of player transactional movement in all professional leagues while with the Texans.

Last year he was interviewed for the San Francisco 49ers general manager post and has interviewed in recent years for the Eagles, Bears and Jets GM openings.

Gaine has worked for four different NFL clubs prior to his arrival in Buffalo, including division rivals Miami and New York. During his six years with the Dolphins he worked alongside Schoen and served his last two years as Assistant general manager (2012-2013).

In addition to Smith in Houston, Gaine has worked with Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcells, Jeff Ireland, Dick Haley and Terry Bradway in his NFL career.

A Pearl River, New York native, Gaine is the youngest of five brothers.

(Jimmy Raye III / Colts bio)

Jimmy Raye III enters his fourth season as the vice president of football operations for the Colts. The 2016 campaign will also mark Raye’s 22nd season in the NFL, including 17 years with the San Diego Chargers. He served as San Diego’s director of player personnel from 2008-2012, overseeing the team’s professional and college scouting departments while assisting on player personnel matters. Raye joined the Chargers in 1996 and spent four seasons (1996-99) as a scout. He was then elevated to the team’s director of college scouting, spending eight years in that role (2000-07).

With the Colts, Raye works closely with General Manager Ryan Grigson on personnel matters. In addition to assisting with the roster, salary cap and free agency process, Raye also contributes extensively with preparation for the NFL Draft, the NFL Combine and prospect visits. Dating back to 2014, he has handled the college free agent process. In the last two seasons, the Colts have featured eight undrafted free agents who, in their rookie season, played in at least one regular season game, with two players starting games.

During Raye’s tenure with the Chargers, the team compiled six winning seasons and five AFC West Division titles. San Diego posted four straight division crowns from 2006-09, which included a 14-2 campaign in 2006, marking the most wins for the team in a single season in franchise history. That season the Chargers also led the league in Pro Bowl selections with 11. Raye played an instrumental role in the draft selections of LaDainian Tomlinson (2001), the Chargers all-time leading rusher (12,490 yards) as well as quarterback Drew Brees (2001), cornerback Quentin Jammer (2002), wide receiver Vincent Jackson (2005) and running back Darren Sproles (2005). He was also part of a staff that signed undrafted free agent Antonio Gates, the team’s all-time leading receiver (10,644 yards) in 2003. From Raye’s first season as San Diego’s director of college scouting in 2000 to his departure in 2012, the Chargers led the NFL in the total number of college free agents who earned a spot on the 53-man roster.

Raye’s NFL career started with the Kansas City Chiefs as the team’s offensive quality control coach in 1995. Prior to his time in the NFL, he spent the 1994 season as a wide receivers coach at Irvine (Calif.) High School and worked for the Amsterdam Admirals of the World League in April of 1995. A former wide receiver at San Diego State (1986-1990), Raye earned a degree in public administration. He left the university tied for eighth on the school’s all-time receiving list with 111 catches. In 1991, Raye signed with the Los Angeles Rams and spent the entire campaign on the team’s roster. He then went on to training camps with the Chargers (1992) and Houston Oilers (1993).

Raye’s success and emergence as a top football mind in the NFL has not gone unnoticed, as he has been recognized throughout his career by receiving invitations to attend the 2003 NFL Stanford Executive Education program in its inaugural year at Stanford Business School and again in 2013 at the NFL Career Symposium at University of Pennsylvania Wharton Business School. Raye was also invited to attend the NFL’s inaugural General Managers’ Workshop at the league office in June of 2016. The event helps top tier general manager candidates prepare for the next step.

Raye has been honored with the Fritz Pollard Alliance “Salute to Excellence” Award in back-to back years (2014-15), recognizing those who display outstanding performance through the year on the field and in the front office of the National Football League.

Born in Fayetteville, N.C., Raye’s family moved to Irvine, Calif. where he became an all-league quarterback and defensive back at Irvine High School. He also played basketball and ran track. Raye’s father, Jimmy Raye II, played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1969 and currently works as a consultant for the NFL’s football operations department.

Lol, the teams "blocked" guys who probably didn't want to come to this mess. Who wants to inherit a team with such few assets and is a multi year project?

Let's bring back Gaine, who was here when we dismantled the OL and defense and signed Osweiler.

So they were pretty much denied by everyone they were interested in except Gaine, who previously worked here.

    Gooooooo Texans!

I would have been shocked if it had been anyone other than Gaine or Raye. Both guys know the score in Houston.

Cowboys Vice President of Personnel Will McClay has permission to speak with the Houston Texans regarding their general manager job but he has not heard from the club yet. "I haven't officially accepted or declined interview with Houston because I haven't talked to anyone from there," McClay told ESPN. "My intentions to interview or stay in Dallas won't be divulged until I speak with someone officially from Houston if they are interested out of respect for both organizations and the process."
