I think it should depend on what type of back they get. If they get one like Drake or Prosise, then Hunt might be gone. If they get Collins, then Blue or Grimes is gone. I think Hilliard is probably gone anyway.

It's Lamar Miller and a bunch of guys. Alfred Blue Kenny Hilliard(Practice squad last year) Akeem Hunt(picked up week 11 of the season) Jonathan Grimes None of these guys preclude them from drafting a RB, if they want to.
None of them preclude them from drafting a RB, but the stable makes them content to only draft one if a guy they like falls to them late in the draft. They won't feel the need to draft a RB. Hunt is a very interesting weapon so I hope they hold onto him and Grimes has actually played well when given carries.

Looking like a WR or DT/NT in the 1st round to me....can you imagine if the Texans select WR Coleman or Fuller... multiple weapons on offense all of a sudden

I'd say Miller & Blue and then Hunt, Grimes & maybe Polk competing for #3 maybe even #4 If they picked a back it would probably be a 6th rounder if they addressed needs on the o line
I don't necessarily mind those guys, I just don't want any of them to be the featured back like they traded off doing last season. I like Hunt and I like Grimes as situational backs.
Turns? Grimes and Polk were never given a chance to be anything more than a situational player/backup back.
I didn't say they didn't. But the current group with the Patriots is successful with a power-type back in addition to a finesse-type and a back who is a good receiver. Even back to the days of Maroney/Morris/Green-Ellis/Faulk and Bolden/Vereen/Woodhead/Ridley

exactly this. I'd say Grimes should have the lead on passing down duties based on his work last year. Beyond that, pick your poison. I'd personally go with the potential of Hunt and Hilliard over the known quantity garbage of Blue. But if Miller got hurt, could you count on Grimes/Hunt/Hilliard giving you a full game of carries in this offense? Hopefully they're comfortable enough to roll with that group rather than waste a spot on Blue just for that possibility
