It would be hard to pass up a guy like Lynch at #10. If you pass him up to take a DB then im cool with it but dont pass up on him because you got Dayne and Taylor on the roster. Dayne had a good game against maybe the worst run defense in history and Taylor had a good game against a team that didnt want to lose any spots in the draft.
Wow, San Francisco won. Looks like we have the 8th pick: 2 14 138 Oakland 3 13 131 Detroit 4 12 134 Cleveland/Tampa Bay 4 12 135 Tampa Bay/Cleveland 5 11 124 Arizona 5 11 128 Washington 6 10 122 Minnesota 6 10 126 Houston 6 10 137 Miami If Cleveland passes on a RB with their pick (they need O-Line help too) then it's possible that AP could drop to #8. I really don't see any other team ahead of us taking a RB, unless someone trades up.
I dunno, Minnesota's got a lot of running backs, but none of them are terribly good. I guess it depends on where they think they need the most help. They should go QB though.
I'm not saying they didn't have any huge CONTRACTS, just a lack of overall talent at the position. Actually, looking at his stats, he had a better season than I thought he did. Looking at the list, yeah I don't see a lot of demand for RB. Someone will take him though just due to his talent. It's not like New Orleans had a huge hole at RB after all.
They did? *searches around* I'll be.. They sure did. I'm not convinced Tavaris Jackson is the long term solution for them, but hey if they feel that way, more power to them.
Good idea. LOL, on fox 26 McNair just said there are probably 20 qbs in the NFL not as good as Carr. Yeah, maybe 20 3rd stringers or practice squadders. Basically he said he wants Carr here, but if Kubiak and the others want an change he'll support it. HE just needs to stay out of it, sign the checks and butt out.
We need another cornerback, some offensive line help, a quarterback (I would like Kolb or Leak), another defensive lineman, and maybe a safety. I'd say: First Round - Offensive Line' Second Round - Corner Third - Quarterback (If this needs to be switched to second round in order to get Leak or Kolb, so be it Fourth - D-Line Fifth - Safety 6th and 7th - Best Player Available.
My early mock draft 1. Oakland-Brady Quinn 2. Detroit- Joe Thomas 3. Cleveland-Adrian Peterson 4. Tampa Bay-Calvin Johnson 5. Arizona-Sam Baker 6. Washington-Leon Hall 7. Minnesota-Gaines Adams 8. Houston-Alan Branch 9. Miami-Quinn Pitcock 10. Atlanta-LaRon Landry
if peterson isn't there, i would take alan branch. hey since the texans defense is improving a bit, why not make the defense a juggernaut if peterson isn't available.
I think another QB (Russell, Smith) will go in the Top 10, Detroit really needs a QB but at #2, there might not be one worth taking (but it is the Lions). Branch would be a very good pick IMO, we've invested so much into our DL (Mario, Travis Johnson, Babin, Weaver, etc...) that we might as well keep investing until it gets where it needs to be.
Yeah, assuming AP isn't there (fairly safe assumption) I'd go with either Branch or Landry. Branch has the size we need to free up MW or Weaver (can you imagine Mario and Branch on the same side? You can't double team both of them). Plus he's got the quickness to collapse the pocket and rush the passer from the inside, something that has been sorely lacking without having one of the LBs blitzing. Landry makes plays all over the field (a very instinctive player, kind of like a secondary version of DeMeco) and has the speed to support sideline to sideline. In my opinion, you can't really go wrong with either one. I'd lean ever so slightly towards Branch though.
Take Def in round 1 and 2 (lb and S) take 1 O-lineman and 1 QB (maybe Kolb) in rounds 3-4 Rounds 5-7 1 d-line, 1 cb, 1 more lb
