The last of the Texans’ three third-selections was rated by many as a late round player, but Houston felt the need to secure the 26-year old on Friday night, and will hope Akins can solve their tight end conundrum. Akins excelled at the Senior Bowl, where he was coached by the Texans staff on the South Roster.
