its pretty disappointing that the logic of the texans history of a 3rd round pick is used to justify giving it away

    It is not an injury.

In his career, Johnson has averaged 543 receiving yards on 59 catches with 2 receiving TDs per season. He's a legit weapon, especially on third downs, and should compliment Miller well. I wished it would have been a 5th or 6th rounder, but at least they actually made a deal to improve the team in an area of need—something they haven't seemed capable of doing all offseason long.

This is just plain wrong. The stipulation was put in because IT'S FOOTBALL. A career-ending injury, let alone a season-ender can happen at any moment. A clause in a contract does not make someone injury prone, a succession of injuries does.

    Stop being ridiculous.

The Browns weren't going to cut him, not with Kareem Hunt suspended the first half of the season and his relatively cheap contract. They had that leverage despite him being upset bout his loss in playing time. We've never had a legit 3rd down pass-catching back, so I imagine this move is to change that history. I'd prefer they not give up such a high pick, but given that or nothing, I'd rather make the move as he makes us better.

That poster has a 10-error posting clause in the Texans forum now. Its nearing the end rather quickly.

First off, that is pure speculation on your part. He will have a physical which will determine if you are correct or not. Second, he will still be a back up RB here in an offense that doesn't throw the ball all that much to RBs. So let me ask again, how is he worth a 3rd rounder?

No, we didn't. The game started off as a blowout but it took some luck to finish it off. The score isn't representative of how the game played out.

Lamar miller has just as good of a catch% as Duke Johnson. The statement of never having a good catching RB just isn't true. We have 3 very good WRs and a group of TEs that are more emphasized in our offense than a RB from a passing stand point. Unless BoB is going to drastically change the offense then we won't see an increase in production just because we have Duke Johnson on the roster.

The physical was him running through the gates of NRG, full sprint. LOL

Link? Not saying your wrong, but I would like to see a source on this. Even if he passes this was a really bad move.

A 4th or 3rd round pick for a proven NFL player is a no brainer for me. You would have better odds wining the lottery then the Texans finding NFL players with in the 4th and 3rd pick. Our 3rd round seems cursed honestly.

Keep perfectly healthy and perennial Pro-Bowler D'Onta Foreman, of course!
