Texas Tech? My grandmother could wheel herself to 100 yards rushing against Texas Tech's defense last year. Quite a few college football teams go to bowl games -- almost half. To say that you are a good team (not even mentioning the defense) just b/c you go to a bowl is ludicrous. Ced disappears in big games, plain and simple. Against D-lines as big and talented as UT's O-line, Ced sputters. Benson is the second coming of Jonathan Wells.
Both Nebraska and Ok. State were ranked at the time those games. And if I'm not mistaken Nebraska's Black Shirt defense was one of the top 10 defenses against the run in the nation going into the game.
Well, Carr had just made a couple of nice passes to Gaffney and Johnson ....1-15 on Detroit's 23 ..........its almost as if the Texans were playing for the FG there
Play calling has always been too conservative for this team. Everyone agrees, but usually the coaches and sportsradio people will pull out the too young, too inexperienced, too risky arguments. If you can't score you can't win.
I agree, they've been playing for Field Goals for 3 years now. Once we get close all you'll see is a play it safe run or a short screen.
C'mon JJ, you have to run forward in that situation...time is of the essence, no point dancing around for 3 yards.
