I agree. I think in year 2 he will be more comfortable in the line up. Last year you could see him hesitating and waiting often on Howard and Harden as im sure he was unsure of his role. He didnt play that way in the D League. He just PLAYED ball.
And last year was his 1st year of getting consistent playing time. It was like his rookie year... Remember the game against Minnesota when Love couldn't do nothing with him. I think he'll be fine. And D-Mo as well.
12-14 points a game and 7-9 rebounds a game is my prediction. Hopefully he works on his three point shot and defense during this offseason. Have to improve in both of those areas.
Lol, that's funny. Whats the point in trying to play defense on anyone, someone will always score. Sounds dumb doesn't it? And bosh is an Allstar PF, i dont care if everyone is mad at him, he is still an allstar pf. To say Jones and him are on the same level is stupid.
His offense was fine last year. I don't give a crap if he improves on O. I just want him to not be a gaping defensive liability. That is all that matters. If he gets to average defender and average defensive rebounder (and the rebounding isn't far off), he's a perfect 5th best starter for a title team. I have my doubts that will happen though.
Depends on who the PG is going to be. T-Jones game is so dependent on a good PG setting him up. With PB at PG I can only see his stats dropping off next year.
Whatever his potential is he'll never reach it He's another one McHale has such a short leash with. Couple mistakes, he's riding the bench.
I said defensively Bosh wouldn't have made a difference. Griffin dropped 43 points on Bosh _ without CP3 playing this past season. And you just saw how affective his defense was in the finals. Lol.
I just want him to work on his jumper and continue to develop on defense. If he takes a big step in those directions this season I can see a 16 & 7 season for him easily.
TJ need to hit that 3 ball and put on a little bit more weight for stronger PF's like David West and LMA
I bet his numbers will be about the same. I think he's actually a worse 3 point shooter than his stats indicate. I will never be comfortable with his long, slow release. He's a solid player and will have a long career but I don't see him ever averaging 19/9, at least not on a contending team.
Jones averaged 13 and 7 last year in 27 minutes. Give him more minutes + more touches in the offense and he'll average at least 16. Hoping for 16 and 9
I hope he doesnt focus on shooting 3s this summer. I would prefer he work on post game and attacking from the mid range. He seems to have the handles to do that and that could be trouble for most other PFs if he is making them have to move their feet to stay with him. Getting stronger should also be a priority.
Well... It's not hard to find out what he could do with more minutes.. just look at his per/36 http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/joneste01.html
Eh, I selected the wrong option. I think he'll be around 14 points and 8 rebounds, maybe playing 30 minutes a game. I don't see him becoming more aggressive offensively, but he may mysteriously develop the 3 point shot ala Bosh.
