I still love you BBH. I know you have a different opinion from most but that's ok because that's what a forum is all about.

I seldom agree with anything you say but I still support your right to have an opinion on things. Also, dude isn't a racial term because it's actually a name, my name.

    Lol

Would not surprise me nor shock me that Terrence turned out to be the better fit for an NBA team than Dmo.

    There is still time though.

    Love you too, dude.

    JAP isn't a name. It's an acronym.

Out of the league does not mean anything in modern days, they could be back faster than you know if they have a strong will and excellent bounce back game.

You never get rid of them, until they get rid of themselves

He's a solid role player. Too many people wrote him off after 1 bad year (the whole team was bad)

I'm confused. Are you insinuating that he doesn't play well against good teams? Because that's not at all what I was saying. The narrative that he never played well against good teams was always overblown. He was a a Spurs killer once upon a time. He had matchup issues with certain players for sure though like ZBo Blake Griffin and LMA, but so does just about every other PF in the NBA. He also has a motor that runs hot and cold. That's the main thing I don't like about him. He has the physical talent.

That's what the stats you posted say. I'm going off your data.

A motor that runs hot and cold? What does that even mean? That he's extremely inconsistent, or that the amount of effort he puts in is based on who's guarding him?

In either case, he's still inconsistent. The underlying cause only matters if it's fixable. The rockets, along with the rest of the NBA, clearly believe he is not mentally capable of reaching his physical potential, or he wouldn't be playing for pennies in his youth.

Morning Zippo missed some of his games against the Spurs (always a winning team).

Terence Jones staring down Lebron after that block was peak Terence.

It is too bad Jones doesn't have the fire to compete every night.

I've always said he was inconsistent. The stats I posted consisted of several playoff bound teams so I'm still unsure what you're looking at here and I think last night may have been against the defending champs with a stacked roster.

Here is the thing. Most role players are inconsistent. That is why they are role players. He isn't going to get 20 and 10 every night, but he can every now and then. Name a current Rocket role player that isn't inconsistent. I don't think you can.

I honestly don't care that he is gone. I really don't. I'm just rooting for a guy that some said doesn't belong in the NBA lol. I don't care that DMo is gone, I don't care that Marcus Morris, Patrick Patterson, and Thomas Robinson are gone either. They are all role players, but TJ has shown the ability to put up numbers that none of those guys can replicate. Now I'm rooting for our newest batch of role players in Capella, Harrell and Dekker, but I don't know if you've guys noticed or not, but...they're inconsistent too. The life of a role player in the NBA.

    of the
I don't particularly care about our ex-role players either, but for austerity, might as well continue.

Inconsistency is relavitive. If you compare a role player with Lebron, of course they will seem inconsistent. But it's an apple to oranges comparison. the only thing we learn from that is that role players aren't as consistent as all-stars. I'm certain we agree on that.

On the other hand, if we compare role players only to other role players, the data actually becomes meaningful. I'd argue that every single role player getting minutes on the rockets is more consistent than Jones, with the exception of Anderson(and his crazy weird tendency to shoot well everywhere but Houston). And possible Dekker, although I believe if you normalize for role and minutes, he'all fall in line as well.

Equally impressive was Lebron started guarding him at the end, and Terrence ate him up with a nice move with 1:46 left in the 4th. Check the video above at the 2:40 mark for block on Kyrie, then Lebron and the low post move.

It will be interesting to see how Jones plays with consistent, injury free, playing time. I really thought he'd make it big for us, but freak or random injuries really impacted his growth. He possibly should've taken more time to come back and as others have said, last year was BAD for everyone connected to the Rockets.
Hope he does well. Would've been nice to still have him on our roster playing at a consistent level with impact like he played yesterday and as he's done at times for us in the past.
