Terrence Jones' nomadic rookie season from the Rockets and their D-League affiliate of Rio Grande Valley continued on Monday with Jones getting the call back up to the NBA. Jones averaged 20.6 points and 8.4 rebounds during his most recent seven-game stint with RGV. With the Rockets, Jones has averaged 3.1 points and 1.6 rebounds in 11 games. He was the Rockets' 18th overall selection out of Kentucky in the 2012 NBA Draft. http://www.csnhouston.com/basketball-houston-rockets/talk/jones-called-rgv-again
Can we give all of T-Robs minutes to Terrence Jones? He really hasn't been impressive and if anything I think we should send him down to the dleague
terrence jones after today's shootaround hope he has the chance to get used to speaking to media sometime. he sounded kinda awkward.
Really would like to see him implemented for some minutes before the playoffs and possibly in our 1st round series. D-Mo vs. Ibaka/Duncan would be brutal to watch.
For the love of God. If the Rockets are sucking horribly at the 4 or even the three, give him at least a look!
well... no, that's not going to happen right now, but I will tell you this- With Garcia(true team option), and possibly Delfino (team option & tradable on draft day), I dont think its a crazy idea that the Rockets could look to get T Jones minutes next season at the 3 spot backing up Parsons. However, he does have to work on dropping weight to improve his defensive quickness on the perimeter. He needs to get physically were he was his freshman year at Kentucky without loosing too much of his strength. When Jones was ranked high in the lottery projections before his sophmore season, I think most scouts saw him as a high upside SF before he put on the weight to play in the post. For what its worth, I do think his skill set does translate much better to the SF position than say Marcus Morris or Patrick Patterson. His 3 point shot needs drastic improvement, but he seems to be getting a bit more consistent at hitting it now in his D-League play. The 3 point shot, and defensive quickness will be the 2 things that give him a shot at get minutes at the 3 next year.
You really didn't watch the minutes he did get earlier in the season in games, he was abysmal. Hopefully he improved but honestly, I doubt he is going to be an impact player.
