This is a psychotic comparison. These are very very different players.

This would be like calling Luol Deng a poor man's Hakeem Olajuwon. Or like calling Kyle Lowry a poor man's Paul Pierce.

Their games are nothing alike. Jones has decent ball handling skills, can slash to the basket and make jump shots. Howard is a monstrous rebounder, post defender and shot blocker. Jones is a good rebounder abd shot blocker at the 3 and could become a decent one at the 4, but he will never be even the type of rebounder, shot blocker or post defender that Howard is. Ever.

I can't help but shrug, throw my hands up and shake my head to this. I mean, yeah, they are both great athletes and strong players, and yeah I really like what I saw from Jones in the summer league game -- but Howard? Really?

    I don't know, whatever man.

Let the youngins play for a season (and probably lose), pick up a lottery pick, and grow the team from the ground up. Once they start improving, make whatever trades or free agency additions to put together the next OKC

I honestly think D-Mo could end up being more like Howard than Jones.

That said, I'm perfectly content with keeping all the rookies. They can even all get minutes at the same time. We should throw out a lineup of D-mo, Jones, Parsons, Lamb, and White and see what happens. Worse comes to worse, we end up with a good shot at someone in the upper lottery.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, the more I see them play, the more I like the youngsters we've got.

In an ideal world, we could give up something like White, the Raptors pick, and Patterson for Bynum, and the Knicks don't match Lin.That would still leave us a great core to build around. My worries, like many others, is that Howard will cost us a ton and when we go to flip him, other teams will use our rental as leverage to get him for a lot less than we payed.

I like Jones so far, but... he's NOTHING like Howard. Their games are completely different. It's almost like comparing Howard to Boykins.

    Nah... Jones isn't like Howard...

Jones can make free throws and isn't a liability on offense in close games. :p
