Also, lack of will power. Weakness of the mind.

what causes it??

because we just want to have "fun"...but too much of anything is not good.

that being said, i make **** ton of mistakes in regards to temptation..ill worry about it when im older

From a psychological standpoint temptation has been studied for over 100 years
basically it boils down to this:

We don't have as tight a control on our judgement as we think we do, recent studies in emotion has shown that our emotive subconscious response actually dictates our decisions well before we make a conscious 'rational' decision. If an outcome can produce an immediate gratifying response we will feel compelled to achieve that outcome (such as eating too much food, drinking too much etc.)

We are compelled and controlled by emotion, not logic as people think. Temptation can be seen as immediate emotion driven response against well thought out logical response

 

Man I could go for some shrimp shu mai right about now.

 

but they do believe in money, which is considered the root of all evil. so go figure

I can resist anything but temptation.

 

I don't think the devil causes us to follow through with temptation. The devil indirectly creates temptation.

 

It is actually "the love of money is the root of all evil."
