I mean the ROX have had one of the best defenses post all star break. Team has made that a priority and it has shown on the court. "HOW ARE WE GOING TO DEFEND UTAH" ??? It just seems like a loaded question. Just like we've been defending every other team lately maybe? Switch everything and have James collapse the paint. While it may not be the ideal philosophy or gameplan, this team isnt a defensive team by any stretch of the imagination, and they will apply pressure on the opposite end every single possession ... just taking one ax swing at a time to topple the big tree. We will outclass them. Gentleman's sweep.
Let's see a breakdown as Kobe does it. Jazz seems to be better offensively, take it for what is worth.
Post ASB, Utah has played the easiest schedule in the NBA. I wouldn't get to caught up in how they have played.
Of course there is a wrong answer. Your question is: "Tell me how we're going to defend Utah." We will use our GSW switching defense (which is really Catch, as in switch anything), so I shouldn't have said switch everything, which is popular vernacular, but has subtle differences, that I can explain somewhat, but I feel it's unnecessary. The point is: I do indeed mean we will play our regular defense. We are creating way too many turnovers of their offense to change anything. They are going to have to fix that problem of theirs, first. We will switch Utah's PnR. They did heavy PnR with Mitchell last playoffs...this isn't new. See Kobe's "Detail" episode on it. There is a right and wrong answer here.
I think the first thing we'll do, is pick up Zhou. Then we'll bench Capela, because Zhou can stop KD, he can definitely stop Gobert or DF. I think they won't average 60 points a game after we bring in defensive master Zhou.
Think the Jazz are much more worried about how they're going to guard the Rockets. They haven't been able to come close to beating us after we got our heads out of the the 'Melo sewer' that our team became in the beginning of the season when they beat us. If you're afraid of the Jazz winning this series then you haven't been watching the Rockets.
