No. I'm quite interested to have you list 50 QBs you'd believe would make the Texans better than 4-4 at this point.
1. Aaron Rodgers 2. Peyton Manning 3. Tom Brady 4. Drew Brees 5. Philip Rivers 6. Ben Roethlisberger 7. Andrew Luck 8. Cam Newton 9. Russell Wilson 10. Matt Ryan 11. Tony Romo 12. Colin Kaepernick 13. Matthew Stafford 14. Nick Foles 15. Jay Cutler 16. Joe Flacco 17. Robert Griffin III 18. Alex Smith 19. Ryan Tannehill 20. Eli Manning 21. Carson Palmer 22. Matt Cassel 23. Brian Hoyer 24. Kyle Orton 25. Austin Davis 26. Sam Bradford 27. Colt McCoy 28. Jimmy Garoppolo 29. Derek Carr
Those last 8 are pretty far reaches, all you did was name almost 30 QB's who are (or project to be) better QB's. #17 - #29 with the exception of Carson Palmer and maybe Eli would have us currently at 4-4. I'm not in the "Fitz is elite" group, but this season he's been very average, NOT below average. I think looking at your list (which obviously isn't in order) Fitz would be somewhere around 20. If it's based on this years performance; if it's based on career achievements and the diversity of NFL uniforms he's had to wear, then he'd be much lower. But this season Fitz has been average, he's not our biggest problem.... Going by the traditional Quarterback rating, (not the garbage numbers ESPN makes up), Fitz has a higher QB rating than Cam Newton, Nick Foles, Matthew Stafford, Ryan Tannehill, Derek Carr, and Matt Cassel.
Exactly, well said. Some people just lose their minds when it comes to talking about Fitz, they can't seem to grasp that he's somewhere around 20-22 in the league and that's not 29th or 30th.
Good thing we don't have Cam playing with Foster, AJ, and Nuk because Fitzpatrick has a higher QB rating... Great... We should all feel better.
20-22 (if that) out of 32 isn't average. He's nowhere close to the 16th best QB. He's closer to 32 (last) than to 16 (average).
League average QB rating is 90 even, Fitz's QB rating is 87.6, that's pretty close to league average.
How exactly are you coming up with 90 as average? He's barely ahead of Mike Glennon, 26th highest with an 85.3 QBRating He's closer to the 32nd best QB (take your pick) than he is to the 16th highest (Alex Smith). I would DEFINITELY take Alex Smith over him.
Fitzpatrick is definitely in the 25-30 range. But the other guys in that range are at least young and might have some potential, which puts Fitz at the tail end of that list
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2014/ Anyway, I'm not going to bother discussing this further with you, it's abundantly clear that you like your narrative and you'll say all manner of ridiculous things in an attempt to further it. Good luck pushing your BS, I'm sure you'll find someone to buy it.
