Teddy Bridgewater was asked to pass the ball all game long ALMOST as much as Ryan Fitzpatrick was in the first half last night. A truly impressive QB performance.
Adrian Peterson was being somewhat selfish in the lions game, he wasnt picking up blitzes leaving teddy to improvise on his own. And he kept screaming at teddy to hand him the ball even after fumbling 3 times in the red zone. Listen im a huge fan of peterson, but Teddy with his upside should be the man of the vikings, i know Zimmer said as long as they are winning it doesnt matter who scores. And Teddy is too nice of a guy to demand to the coaches to ask for more dropbacks, but you cant throw the ball 18 times and expect your qb to make the probowl. Teddy rarely if ever makes mistakes with the football while maintaining 70% completion and a healthy ypa of over 7 and thats againist pressure, the blitz, or any exotic coverages. So the question becomes why not let Teddy throw the ball 30-40 times a game? The answer according vikings beat writer Ben Goesling is because peterson was promised more touches by the vikings front office when he agreed to stay in minnesota, and drop his trade demands. Teddy threw the ball 18 times and finished with a 98 qbr againist the lions.. the 3rd highest in week 2.. QBR is better than passer rating, because it measures the importance of the qbs impact on a grading scale of 0-100 to that particular game, so Bridgewater was able to consistently able to get the vikings in the red zone even after Peterson's 3 fumbles http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr/_/type/player-week
blame peterson, peterson is the idiot talking about he wants to rush for 2,500 yards.. he aint about the team, only himself.. dude is careless with the football
lol When Teddy was asked to throw the ball 32 times in week one, he responded with zero TDs, 1 INT, took 5 sacks and had a terrible QB rating. Minny had no choice but to feed Peterson the ball as much as possible
that was teddy's FIRST start with peterson EVER, how did teddy perform last year with with garbage runningbacks, he led all rookie qbs in 300 yard passing games, and wins. So dont give me this talk Bridgewater cant be efficent as a high volume passer, i saw it with my own eyes last year, without a mike wallace on the team
Bridgewater at the age of 23 has completed 74% of his passes this year (64% last year) yet 27 year old Ryan "57 qbrating" Mallet needs more time to learn how to throw accurately. Teddy may be a game manager but what the heck is wrong with that when the alternative can't even complete 50% of his passes? http://www.startribune.com/bridgewater-was-historically-great-sunday-by-one-key-measure/328851891/ Teddy Bridgewater was historically great on Sunday by one key measure He posted a Total QBR of 98.5 on Sunday; the highest a quarterback can get is 99.9. There were only 12 individual games last season in which a QB had a higher number.
Bridgewater is such a cool head. And appears to be a team first guy to the core. But the coaches are gonna have to put more on him at some point. As Bridgewater continues to develop, I chuckle at those whose racist inclinations are so invested in seeing the kid fail. Let it go. He can clearly QB with his best assets not being physical ones. Just enjoy football.
yea teddy was awful today, his worst game as a pro no doubt norv needs to find a balance between teddy and peterson, and have them clicking together
nice bounce back by teddy today, just came up short againist the number 1 defense in the nfl on the road.
How'd he do against the best defense in the NFL? He was sacked 7 times, hit 11 times...but managed to almost pull off a win against one of the best teams in the NFL, on the road. Was the 41 pass attempts not good enough? How about 30-37 on targeted passes? How about 8 for 13 on throws over 10 yards? Yeah, he's shown nothing as a pro.
I'm glad to see it, he went several weeks in a row looking like garbage which is probably why this thread went silent.
