Well, let's see... Leftwich was 6-5, 250 lbs. Bridgewater is maybe 6-3, 200 lbs. So physically its a close comparison.
Bridgewater has won rookie of the week twice already... and might win again for this week. But what's most interesting about his rookie season is that the overall stats don't paint a complete picture. If you look at how well he plays at the end of the half, his numbers look more impressive.
Well so far they've all been hot garbage but it's probably a toss up between Mettenberger and Bridgewater for best of the scrubs that came out in this most recent draft. We're looking at a lot of Jake Locker and Blaine Gabbert quality QB's with none of them being worth having.
That's still a very good y/a, so not sure what your point is. And you can't arbitrarily take away screen pass yards from a QB. They all get them at some point.
Carr looking pretty good today as well. 2 weeks ago, he led a last second drive to beat KC; today, he's shredding SF. Those are two pretty defenses.
And at the same time, questions beginning to be raised about Kaepernick... especially if the QB friendly system that Harbaugh employs leaves with him. There probably, at any given time, are only 4-5 true franchise QB's in the NFL... the rest are just slightly above average to average to mediocre.
not to go too much off subject but i wonder about kaepernick, greg roman is not really maximizing his potential in his system.. im also a huge oregon ducks fan, and mariota reminds me soooo much of kaepernick.. i hope mariota goes to a team with a head coach that will maximize his talents
Agreed - Kaepernick doesn't seem to be progressing at all. But I suspect that whole team is going to fall apart when Harbaugh leaves. They seem to have quickly forgotten what that franchise was like before him.
Somehow that's not really getting that message across. Fitz is having a career year and Teddy is about where Fitz's career average is yet you say he's "Way better".....not really making a lot of sense.
Fitz gets benched for Mallet. Having a career year. Not really making a lot of sense. Bridgewater is a rook. He'll only get better.
He needs to be in a system that he can succeed in... and he's not good enough to just put on any team and have them improve simply because they have him. To me, any "system" QB is a gimmick. Sure, they're going to have some good years, and put up stats. The Run and Shoot was a gimmick offense, but doesn't change the fact that they could (should) have competed for at least one Super Bowl.
