It means I can see right through your procelain shell of fragile arguments that are based in nationality. Bring it! San Francisco **** Sucker, Swearengen (Deadwood)
Alright Heypee, good job good effort. Now step away from the racial slurs, get some sleep, and come back and apologize.
this one World Cup yeah, but it aint a good comparison though.... In soccer there is not a single nation that is dominating throught 2 or 3 decades. And if Germany would be like this year's US they would leave half of Bayern's team at home, and send half of their B squad and still go the Finals (and probably win by 3 or 4 goals difference) They'd never win a WC without having all of their best players in it. (Lebron, Durant and arguably Paul, Dwight, Bosh were left at home) Point was Germany was not title favorite Number 1 before the WC started. They were like Spain, France, Slovenia or Serbia. Not comparable at all.
this is the real football. football with arm and foot skills that has full on tackling without the pads and marking over individuals instead of running in coordinated routes of straight lines. side note: my team at the end of last year signed the brother of WR antonio holmes (Raiders) to a contract for 2 years and stole him away from a life as a college basketballer <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/zxhqXzVBen4?hl=en_US&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/zxhqXzVBen4?hl=en_US&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Gayist refs in the World. And y'all play on an Oval vs a grid iron? There is a reason real football requires pads and helmets. And your version, understandably, doesn't need them. aussi punani
we have lame refs? thats the worst thing about our game? geez your clutching at straws. <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/s1aU0hz5Tf8?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/s1aU0hz5Tf8?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> enjoy a real sports big hits and not ones that require helmets and full padding
Yeah, we used to play without pads and helmets and then we evolved into a more dynamic, vicious style of football where every play is a car wreck of bodies. Maybe one day you'll get there. Good luck with your Aussie foozball. It's funny, in the US the only guys that play Aussie foozball are the soccer players and the guys that couldn't make the real football team.
yawn. We used to not have helmets like that in like the '50s. But we learned as we evolved the sport to be more vicious... deaths would happen, without protection. Maybe Aussie foozball will evolve there some day too If you want to see the most violent hits in sports, it's the NFL, because we wear helmets. Think about it. The whole point of the game is to line up and hit each other as brutally as you can. Maybe you can say the line of scrimmage is stupid...but don't say these guys don't take advantage of that moment to size up their hit. The line of scrimmage is a moment to destroy each other every play and the designed plays to run routes right into the strong safety's brutal hit to your head...is most viciously done with pads. Anything less is ... well ... less There is no argument here from anyone in the World except Aussie Punani
im talking about the skills. in nfl every player only has to master 1 position and not all the skills such as a qb has to throw, a WR has to catch and a Punter has to just kick. well in afl every player has to be the QB,RB,WR,DT,K,LB all in one. the skills it takes to play our game for each player is much harder than nfl. and our game is 360 degrees, you dont know if a player is coming from the front of the back or the side and it doesnt give breaks at the end of ever position for the players to work out what they have to do giving them 40 seconds. no our game doesnt stop until the siren goes. our game is the most electric game in the world /thread
And then there's the uniforms. NFL players are geared for battle like gladiators. These Aussie foozballers are running around in their little shorts and high socks like a bunch of pansies. Geez!
Real football is about specialization. They're the greatest in the world at what they do, not mediocre at everything. The BEST at what they do. The BEST, not a bunch of utility players. Our stars aren't utility players. Nobody pays to watch utility players, well except in Australia apparently.
fair enough. And one of these days I'm going to visit and you are going to take me to a game, right? Btw, I'm a sworn Adelaide fan, because SmeggySmeg already promised me a game, when I visit .... likely, next year.
You have to play against the best to be the best. In that light, it's good for American players to meet stiff competition in the Olympics and world championships. In that way, basketball all over the world will grow and improve. Just like it becomes kinda boring to have MIA or SAS keep winning the NBA championship, we need to see challenges coming from different basketball programs. In whatever country, it's the sport that we love.
I think and know that not all German fans were rooting for the German team during the football/soccer world cup. Just as not all Americans support team USA during the basketball world cup. Well, first of all, a Canadian invented the game. And can you be really proud that team USA is dominating like that while your best players are sitting at home? It just shows that your country is the only one that really cares about the sports (as unfortunate as that is, I also wish it would get more attention over here). But being basically the only country that cares about basketball and easily winning every tournament would rather annoy me than make me happy, because if things were different not only international competition would benefit from that but also the NBA. If more people all over the world would be interested in & play basketball, there'd also be more talent in the NBA and not just a few exceptions like Dirk, Yao and Tony Parker every few years. So it really isnt anything to be happy about. http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/70489/is-basketball-really-a-global-game
