PG- Chris Paul PG- Deron Williams G-Russell Westbrook G-Kobe Bryant G/F-LeBron James G/F-Kevin Durant F-Carmelo Anthony F/C-Kevin Love C-Tyson Chandler G-Eric Gordon? F-Andrew Iguodala? C-Blake Griffin? How does this team go up against the world?
The team is plenty good enough to take the gold even though their depth took a major hit with Howard, Bosh and Rose not playing. Tyson Chandler was not very good in the World Championships two years ago, but he's a key player this year.
It depends, how many dominate bigs are there from other teams? That frontcourt is going to need more help.
Its closer this year, but the gap will widen again in the future Blake Griffin should NOT be on the team, rather have somebody like Al Jefferson or Paul Milsap.. somebody that can actually shoot from the outside, and post up
"Kevin Love has just nailed his 8th three of the game, giving LeBron 31 assists for the game... to go along with his 26 boards." "That's right, Jim! The Americans now up by 51." "And just over 2 min till halftime..."
That no longer happens anymore, I know Team USA will win, but the games will be a LOT closer( especially with powerhouse Spain, and their secret weapon... Serge Iblocka)
Spain's best days are behind them. Anything is possible, but I don't think they will hang as close this time if they play Team USA in the medal round.
Spain played like trash in the world cup and people forget that the 08 US squad had 2nd tier guys on their team when this one is completely filled with HOF guys.
The 2 Gasols and Iblocka are probably a better C/PF setup than the US has. That being said Durant and James could probably take the rest of the world playing 2v5 on offense.
What world? I think USA is in another world as far as basketball goes. USA against rest of the world, now that would be a great match. But rest of the world's players are scattered throghout numerous teams, so no team is so strong to match USA. Spain comes second, but it's a big gap between them. Rest of the world team that would maybe beat USA: Tony Parker/Ricky Rubio Manu Ginobili/J.C.Navarro Gallinari/Luol Deng Dirk Nowitzki/Serge Ibaka Joakim Noah/Marc Gasol Well, maybe it wouldn't beat USA afterall.
Whoever thinks spain should be on the same court as the usa is just trolling. Kobe, LBJ, Durant.. I like our chances.
