It would have to be Jesus Shuttlesworth in order for the salaries to match up.

Why would Boston want to do this?

You must be a rookie to this game. You my friend are gonna believe that then idk what to say. Take it how you want it but you honestly believe that would even work? Look at how much McGrady makes and look at how much Rondo makes... Enough said end of discussion lock thread!!!

Now come on T_mac1.....I know that it's become the norm the last few months to generalize by saying that guys can't do things (can't create, can't dribble, can't play D) but to say that Ray Allen can't create and is useless if his shot isn't falling is a reach.

As far as "what Morey want's" if you look at the history of Adelman's point guards over the years (Porter, JWill, Bibby) they all have something in common which is the fact that they were all guys who looked to score and could hit the long ball. Being a pass first, defense first guy isn't a requirement in Adelman's system. If it did indeed happen, it would be interesting to see how Adelman masks Rondo's outside shooting.

Rondo isn't re-signing. They don't want to lose him outright and could get Brooks instead who would be much cheaper to keep. If Tmac comes back healthy, then he is an upgrade over Allen on both sides of the floor.

    my guess:

Rondo is mad at the Celtics. Celtics love to dump him to a hopeless west team like Rockets.

    1) Our point guards are incredibly overrated imo.

    2) PG is ALWAYS a need if you can upgrade into the upper echelon of them. When Yao comes back next year (which is what we're playing for to begin with isn't it?) then the slashing ability of Brooks will once again take a backseat to his (or any point guard's) ability to get Yao the ball in good spots, which had been our beef with our point guards for what, the past five years?

    Additional...

Allen's contract is an expiring like McGrady, 19.75M. Unfortunately, while both are overpaid, Allen is actually healthy at this moment so if Boston's aim is to "win" in any sense of the word (now, next year, whenever) then there is no reason in hell they would have for serving Rondo and Allen to us on a silver platter.

And any Rockets fan that would not want Rondo over Brooks needs to take off the rose-colored shades. Rondo is a beast; he was a beast at Kentucky, and has always had the potential to be great in every facet of the point guard position (passing, scoring, defense). His only weakness is outside jump shooting which coincidentally happened to be the only weakness of Kidd and Tony Parker (and Derrick Rose for now). Guess what? Jump shooting is basically the only thing that NBA players can substantially improve upon by working on it. If he is not already one, Rondo will soon become a top 5 PG.

    And so it begins.

I'm raising my over/under on T-Mac trade rumors this season from 15 to 20.

it's a generalization yes, but that's how i feel about ray allen at this stage of his career. in the playoffs, he's highly inconsistent the past 2 years. when he makes his shot, he'll score 20+. when he doesn't, you hear the analysts (and if you saw the game), you're like, "where the hell is ray allen?" i was literally saying that aloud whenever he doesn't score. he simply doesn't contribute much else.

however, adelman has never had a big man like yao. when yao is in the game, we don't run his offense. rondo thrives as much in a half-court offense as much as he would on a fast-pace team. he's that good. yes, his jumper remains a little inconsistent to play in adelman's system right now. but he's 23. he's young. and he has shown the inclination to get better and be a star in this league. you grab that type of player if he's available.

it's like saying you don't grab derrick rose b/c he can't shoot a lick right now.

jumpshooting is one of the skills players CAN improve on when they're in the league, unlike ballhandling or other type of offensive skills.

that's his stats through 14 playoff games. he actually handled the ball and had responsibilities. ariza was just told to spot up and knock down open 3s.

We have so many players on this team that can not create for themselves, Rondo would be a great match for the Rockets.

Other than that Bill Simmons CP3 pipedream, you couldn't hope to reel in a better haul than Rajon Rondo in a Tracy McGrady swap. Pretty surprising that people here wouldn't do that deal. It doesn't matter that he can't shoot - personnel moves from this point forward should not be centered around Yao.

Can't see Celtics management being this dumb, but you could definitely see KG and Paul Pierce pushing for something like this if the rumors about Rondo are true.
