@Dave2000 - Thanks, I'll add those two places to my list as well.

@rezdawg - Tinman is right, I've been to most of those places in the past year. I live in Las Vegas. Thus, I wasn't very impressed with H-Town's nightlife. My friends who live in Houston and who've been to Miami (the guys I'm meeting up later on this week) disagree with Houston nightlife being better than Miami's. Thanks for sharing your perspective though. I'll see for myself and report back. LIV is definitely on my list of places to go to.

@TracyMacAddidas - Thanks for the well thought out responses in this thread. I appreciate the info. The politics of clubbing, the women, headlining DJs, etc... seem very similar to here in Las Vegas. I think I have a good idea of what to expect. I'll be staying at Essex House and we were told we'd have access to all the stuff at the Clevelander as well since they're sister properties. They just opened up a Club Nikki/Nikki Beach here in Vegas relatively recently too, and it's not bad. I'll hit up both of those places as well.

I think I repped everybody in this thread that provided some good and useful info. I take off in a couple of days and I'll be back on Tues. I'll try and take lotsa pics and post them on here and I'll do my best to report back on how the trip went. If there's anything else, please let me know, thanks.

TracyMacAddidas, one last question. How's the weather there right now? Is it raining? I don't trust the forecasts.

Well it rains hard every now and than but the weather usually is never a factor especially at night. If it rains during the day, it goes away in about an hour. Thing with Miami is even when it's cloudy it's hot.

You shouldn't have a problem with the weather.

I agree, been to Miami twice for the Ultra Music Festival.

However, I would never live in Miami, downtown is dirty and it's just not something for me. I like more of a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.

btw, Afrojack is playing tonight here in Tampa.

    Hey Kwame,

The past week or so it has been raining here in the Tampa area and Florida in general. It's going to continue for the next few weeks or months. If you want to catch most of the sun your best bet coming to Miami would be between Feb and May.

I don't know if your email through the website is working, but I just sent you a pm. Holla back at me whenever you can, thanks.

Edit: I'm also going to assume that most places accept credit cards, because I don't usually carry a lot of cash. If I'm wrong, somebody please tell me.

Double Edit: TracyMacAddidas, just in case your email through the boards isn't active, message me at plostylzz@yahoo.com when you get the chance.

Really? Hit me up next time you go there..

I missed the masquerade with SHM, was really upset.

Usually I like the smaller venues/clubs and pool parties...Electric Pickle is pretty cool, the Ultimate Yacht Party was awesome...

me and my buddies rented this Motel downtown, $60 bucks a night with jacuzzi, disco lights and free p*rn...was hilarious..

I'm 25, went to south beach last summer and stayed at the south sea hotel. Had a blast! As far as the club thing goes... Went to mansion and had a great time, didn't really stand out as one of the best in the world though. Went with two other guys and I learned you definitly have to have a couple females to get in. We just asked a few in line if they wouldnt mind escorting us. We aren't bad looking dudes either and we still had to have females to get in. The clubs didn't blow me away and I could also argue that Houston is on par right now As far as night life. Enjoy the beach... Hope your in shape cause even the homeless people have 6 pack abs! Can't wait to go back next summer.

Just a bump in order to provide a quick recap of my trip. I just got back in late last night from an amazing trip to Miami. We stayed on Miami Beach the entire team, but I went to most of the restaurant and bar/club suggestions on here. South Beach was super packed with people from all over the world. Everything in that area was expensive like I expected, but the experience was great.

The food in general was overpriced, but decent to good.

The bars and clubs were definitely better than Houston. It's not even a contest. Not quite as good as Las Vegas though. We went to Mynt Lounge on Thurs., Mansion on Fri., Club SET on Sat., Nikki Beach and Aracadia on Sun (line at LIV was just too long and we had no hookup), and Clevelander on Mon., and chilled on Tues. We had no problems getting in anywhere except for LIV. All the clubs were really going off. Good music and lots of good looking women of all ethnic backgrounds everywhere. Didn't see any drama. Everybody was just having a real good time.

The South Beach area was simply just packed with beautiful women everywhere...the streets, the beach, the clubs, bars, restaurants, etc... Most of them had great attitudes and were just partying it up. Seemed to be less of an emphasis on money in SoBe as opposed to Las Vegas. Another thing I noticed is that girls in Miami aren't afraid to make the first move. More than a handful of girls came up wanting to hangout and I met girls from all over the place. Things definitely get pretty wild in South Beach.

Essex House is a great hotel to stay at. A little pricey, but definitely worth it, especially the suites.

We mostly just went to the beach, bars/clubs, restaurants, and relaxed. The only drawback was the weather. It wasn't the best, but it only rained sporadically.

Random celebrity sightings included Andre Johnson sitting in the corner of David's Cafe with a few friends at 5 am and Maurice Jones-Drew walking on Ocean Drive. Don't think anybody other than our crew recognized either guy.

Thanks to everybody for offering their advice and suggestions, especially TracyMacAddidas...He was extremely helpful. I'm definitely going to have to go back soon.

    Here are some pics...Definitely NSFW
