this piecemeal/intellectually dishonest spin needs context a majority of this bond issue by the Chinese Imperial Govt in ~1911 were purchased by England, some by France, Netherland and Portugal; the US was a much smaller buyer even this back-pedal is less than the full truth the PRC had also paid back France, Netherland, Portugul and other countries who recognize the sovereignty of the PRC over its Taiwan province This got the ball rolling insofar as the PRC's admission to the IMF, w special drawing rights (SDR) note to dachuda86, Taiwan/ RoC also claims to be China and the US currently does not recognize the PRC's sovereignty over its Taiwan province (selectively not to apply the principle of succession of state) Should the US call on the PRC to honor this debt (to US holders), it is effectively recognizing PRC's sovereignty over Taiwan, in accordance to the principle of succession of state
I don't think you understand how things work. It doesn't matter what China wants. The US can recognize whoever it wants and that is seperate from what the PRC may dream of. Taiwan is also well armed and can make problems for China, so I also doubt that Chinese pipedream will come true. Also what is up with your posts looking so weird?
