Surprised there aren't any juvenile "your mom's taco" or "your sister's taco" jokes in here yet. Y'all too classy.
The migas tacos at Vera Cruz is the best. It's the number one thing I need to get when I visit Austin.
Don't miss the city even an ounce. Love my bigger home, kitchen, yard and my short walk to my pier to fish. How much fun are you having dining out, hittin the Gen Z bars in ya 40s and just living the potholed loop life with Covid in a city that's non existent compared to just 6 months ago? My outdoor kitchen will be complete next week. It's huge, like a plot of land where I escaped from. So dope by the pool with the shaded TV and outdoor entertainment. War Covid life. So peaceful here too. No marches or torching snow cone stands and whatnot.
The out-loopers aren't commuting back in for work yet (or maybe ever), so, I'm enjoying the now quiet urban landscape. Meanwhile, the suburbs probably have lines out the door to get into At Home, Cracker Barrel and Sam's Cuts.
El Topo has a good barbacoa taco. They also have a barbacoa grilled cheese that is pretty good. Liked it better when it was a food truck however...the restaurant is not as good. Also second Laredo's barbacoa. **** now I want some barbacoa
Did I ever mention the time I had a company come to H-Tine from Indianapolis to work on a project? I was the client. I took them out to HUGO's. They were impressed but not like... grateful. Sometime later that week they went and tried out Torchy's for themselves and were BLOWN AWAY. Lulz. Losers. Other than me and @Jeff I think everyone else here probably prefers Torchy's.
@Joe Joe ...next time you're in Marble, Moonie's had the best burger I've had in ages. I was legitimately impressed, first time I'd been there.
Never had a Torchys taco. What is this amazing thing I'm missing out on. My pic are real Mexican tacos from Taqeuria Los Reyes. Ghetto hole in the wall but the tacos are freaking unreal. Crispy but soft shell, grilled and the marinate with lime is magnifico.
