I can't even believe there is anyone who thinks T-Mac won't get in. He'd be the first multiple scoring title winner in the history of the NBA to not be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He's as good as in.
Its not for you to decide though. There is a precedent for who makes the HOF... Based on that precedent all 3 guys are no doubters for the HOF.
Webber is the more charismatic analyst, Tmac acts salty sometimes but both are solid. Both could go in the HOF. Personally wished Bogues could join in.
Did Jabbar really say that Rudy T had a short coaching career? He was a head coach for 11 years and 21 overall. No wonder he's not in the HOF, voters are using Jabbar's brain to make the decisions.
Man, bad thread title. I think they're both deserving but I think any longtime Rockets fan would say Rudy T needs to be the headline before McGrady.
Rudy T a no brainer for his contribution as a player and a coach. T-Mac for some reason just doesn't "look" like a HOF'er to me. I mean if you enshrine T-Mac you gotta enshrine Tim Hardaway, Stephon Marbury, Andre Miller, Jason Terry, Eddie Johnson, etc... Those guys might be HOF'ers but none of them have that generational player feel. Also, I agree thread title sucks balls. Should be Rudy T thread.
T-Mac is a generational athlete. If you were to ask people who the best Shooting Guards of the 2000s were everyone would say Kobe and then T-Mac. T-Mac was insanely popular.
So you penalize players with equivalent or better numbers because they weren't popular with the fans?
Tim Hardaway is a no-brainer. Marbury maybe. The rest are just random guys you listed. How are they at all comparable to McGrady? What about Greg Ostertag? Zan Tabak? Every player with equivalent or better numbers than McGrady is in the HOF or is certain to be in the HOF.
Check the numbers of the other guys. Guys I listed are equivalent or better based on Assists and Points. Jason Terry's #'s are slightly better. I don't think Jason Terry is a HOF'er. Sorry if its upsets people but I just don't see McGrady as a sure fire HOF'er.
First 12 seasons for each. It's not close. You're first 12 years qualifier was specifically used to make your data look good. Longevity is a HOF attribute and if I start moving goalposts too I could really make T-Mac look bad. How so, Jason Terry 1 Time NBA Champ, 2 time finalists, 4 time Conference finalists, numerous playoff victories, 1 USA Gold Medal, NCAA champion, and more... Jason Terry had way more playoff/championship success then T-Mac's failures.
