Today is pissing me off. The Spurs get Jefferson, the Wizards get Foye and Miller, and the Timberwolves get the #5 pick. What the Rockets doing? Somehow I just don't think having Tmac in the line up or off the bench will get it done.

The Wizards are well over the LT next season. This deal saves them $2.7M.

It was basically the no.5 pick and a $2.7M saving for Foye & Miller.

The scrubs they sent to Minnesota were 3rd option guys on a healthy squad.

    Arenas, Foye, James
    Miller, Stevenson, Crittenton
    Caron, Young, McGruire
    Jamison, McGee
    Blatche, Haywood

Spurs and Wiz have upped the ante. The pressure is on Morey to get something out of dealing McGrady now.

Read the OP. Morey offered T-Mac. End result? Wiz turned it down.

I would do it if we could get Harden. Start Wafer though and see if that Pushes both of them to work harder.

Morey is a magician, remember that. What you think is in his right hand is actually in his ear.

Morey said that TMac is still a big part of the team and important for the playoffs, and expect him to contribute next year.

WTF kind of trade is that? You mean to tell me they turned down Tmac and Landry for Foye and Mike Miller? They didn't even save that much money, or get rid of their really poisonous contracts (Arenas, James, Jamison)! If I was the Wiz I'd take the 30 million savings that earlier poster mentioned rather than this crap...

And the #5 pick. If they are in rebuildng mode, I rather have the #5 pick than T-Mac. One guy will play half a season and split for championship team and you have lost your ivnestment. With the #5 pick, the player is locked down for 4 years.

It sounds like McGrady and Landry won't get us a high lottery pick. Teams holding the picks may want to save money, but if possible they also want players who can contribute. Given that McGrady's injured and Landry hasn't shown he's completely back yet, it's natural that the Wizards rejected the offer.

A package of Brooks and McGrady didn't get us the #2 pick from Memphis, but it could still get something pretty high if Morey chooses to go that route.

The Wizards trade is a lot better than what we offered.

The Wiz got rid of some bad contracts, don't have to pay the #5 and both Miller and Foye come off the books next year.

Miller and Foye is a lot better than a Deshaun Stevenson and Nick Young.

TMac might not be back until March.

Wizards save money this year next year and solidify their bench

I dont think we ever had an offer to Washington. More so ESPN was suggesting who we would or could offer. As for Memphis, Morey rejected that trade, so it could have netted us the 2nd pick had Morey wanted to take back bad contracts.

Why would Washington trade for McGrady?

Can you imagine having Arenas and McGrady on the same team? How bad would the Wizards front office look when both players are collecting massive money in the injury role?

Good trade for Washington. They dealt their fool's gold lottery pick in a weak draft for some good NBA talent. Minnesota is crazy. The Rockets need to find the rest of the crazy GM's.
