You have to think that the odds of the Democrats flipping the Arizona legislature went up dramatically today.

Interesting how republicans are trying to distance themselves from this...

Amazing watching so many republicans backpedaling on this... not only did she vote for the 2022 bill that put this into place, but her husband sits on the AZ supreme court that ruled on this...

it speaks to a dark part of the human condition that anyone's vote would be motivated by a desire to kill the unborn

it speaks to a dark part of the human condition that anyone would want every unborn to be birthed in the name of the SANCTITY of LIFE, and then no longer care once born if the baby gets properly cared for.

I have started to think that many conservatives think every little kid basically has the same chances. Like, even if you're an orphan or in a struggling, one-parent home, with insufficient food, you should be cunning and strong enough to end up owning your own multi-billion dollar company. And that the kid from a -- I dunno -- Queens suburb, with a huge trust fund, had an equal struggle to this other kid. I think they really believe this at some level. So, it goes something like this:
Every foetus deserves to get born, and the cream will naturally rise. If you don't overcome squalor and abuse and a devastating lack of resources, that's totally on you.

Whether a kid turns into Don Corleone or Don Trump is immaterial -- everyone has a basically equal chance at such a path based on their own inner qualities. Or at least, that would be a consistent framework for their chosen policy positions.

EDIT: And I bet this makes them innerly bitter about their own lack of substantive accomplishments, reducing to cutting and pasting drivel onto a BBS. :D:eek:

It speaks to a dark part of the human condition that anyone's vote would be motivated by a desire to force a woman into septic shock and the brink of death to carry a non-viable pregnancy to term all while jeopardizing her future fertility because they love hypothetical children so much.

It’s the ‘desire’ to not limit a person’s personal choice. GOP is the party of not-freedom and limiting rights. You guys need to wake the **** up.

He did get three people to respond to him so far. Reminds me of those old chain emails..."Forward this to at least 10 people and you'll be blessed with good luck for the day." Maybe the GOP does something like that and he'll get a free pair of Trump shoes or some ****.

This..........the government should not be in the business of telling ANYONE what they can and can't do with their own body. I think its very telling that all the gop folks who wanted this and voted for it at the outset are now shocked by what came of this and now there crawfishing like a mofo..........and why? because they don't want to lose power and then comes the faux outrage.......if you really believe abortion should be outlawed then stand by your beliefs.

Never understood this reasoning. It's hypocritical to oppose murder unless you support cradle-to-grave welfare as well?

Abortion is murder, and not a choice we should sanction.

Never understood the pro-life crowd who are against abortion ... but ... are for the death penalty, for not funding Head Start, for not supporting the child welfare tax credit, etc.

It is like they view an unwanted pregnancy as a punishment for the woman's behavior. Just like.
