Rice is one win away from a College World Series birth. Game time is 6:07 pm tonight. Game is on ESPN 2. I'm a Houston Cougar, but I'll be rooting for Rice as they represent this great city and C-USA in Omaha. Real Sports Cities have 2 C-USA Teams!
Its on ESPNU for much of the country ... like out here in Cali. We got a lucky break on that out call at 2nd base or else Rice would have had 2 on, no one out again. This one run lead is too tight for my liking. And yes, these unis are fugly .. i'm not sure why they pulled these out when they have nice traditional unis.
ho hum. Another year, another trip to Owlmaha Rice just destroyed the Big XII this year. 3-0 versus A&M, 3-1 versus the whorns. Ended both of their seasons. 9-1 overally versus the Big (sic) XII
Maybe you shouldn't be renaming the town after your team until you are more than 2 and done there. I hope Rice wins it all, but it is a little soon to be claiming that you own the place when somebody else generally leaves with the trophy.
lol I love the bitter Aggie fan who just got swept out of the super regional for the 2nd time in as many years by the Owls. Talk to me when the Ags have won more than 2 games.....ever....in Omaha. lol Baseball is A&M's best sport, but they fall short of the Owls year after year
You talk a lot of **** for a school that is good in one sport absolutely horrendous in everything else
If you were a true Rice Owl fan you would do things that would make Rice easier to root for, not the opposite. I am a Rice fan, and I am disgusted we have fans like you. You are the exception to what I feel is a very classy Rice fan base. Congrats on a good season Aggies and best of luck in the future.
How is it the Ags always have to go through Rice? Is that always the case? I have no idea how things are set up I would rather follow Pokemon than college baseball. But I always have to hear about Rice owning us in H-town every year.
NCAA seeds all 64 teams as a 1-2-3-4 seed. Then once the seeds are placed on all 64 teams they try to match a 1-2-3-4 seed to the nearest host city. Rice alwayss has the luxury of being a top 8 protected seed. Which means they are guaranteed to host a regional and super regional.
Congrats to Rice. Y'all did handle the Big 12 in solid fashion this season. I'm sorry some of your fans are tools, but I've heard it's like that in every fan base. But seriously, good luck in the CWS. It's interesting to see so many top seeds hold up this season, especially after many upsets last year, including Oregon State winning it all.
It is a superregional. Since A&M and Rice are geographically convenient, they get paired up. Reading your post...beware of Pikachu.
The Owls have as good of a shot as anyone, imo, with their experience in Omaha (this counts in a big way) and their bullpen. For guys like Luna and Price, they've never played a season without going to Omaha... St Clair and Seastrunk have been on the all-CWS team before and most of the other key contributors have logged 4 or 8 games there already. That experience is going to matter in crunch time.
I'm going to be pulling for Rice, but this is still baseball. Now that it is down to an 8 team tourny, it all comes down to which team gets hot. Hopefully it will be the Owls.
