Knicks want a 3 point threat that can defend. Trade Delfino for Iman Shumpert. Good for both sides. Knicks get someone that can help contend now and Rockets get defensive stopper they need against Western conference teams that can grow with the team. Iman can match Westbrook's tenacity and athleticism if Rockets play OKC.
No offense to anyone, but this is a typical case of the media/NY fans having an enormous effect on your opinion. Shumpert is decent, but he's no more than a glorified (slightly taller) Norris Cole. And not just based on hair.

According to sources, a potential deal to send Smith from the Atlanta Hawks to the Suns prior to Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, is unlikely. Phoenix has had talks with Atlanta about Smith, who will become an unrestricted free agent this summer. However, the Suns have been engaged in discussions about their own role players in Sebastian Telfair and Jermaine O'Neal. Toronto, looking for a backup point guard, has interest in Telfair, as well as Minnesota's Luke Ridnour and Oklahoma City's Eric Maynor. New York has strong interest in O'Neal. Sources also told ESPN that the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics are three teams known to be in talks with the Hawks about Smith. In conversations with the Bucks, the Hawks' interest is believed to start with Monta Ellis, sources tell ESPN, at least in part because Ellis could play next to Jeff Teague. Barring a deal that featured three or more teams, Boston would likely need to part with Paul Pierce to acquire Smith, which could well rule the Celtics out of the chase for Atlanta's versatile forward, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.
