Did Pat Riley just imply that Rashard Lewis is a "great one"?

This all just sounds like whining. Did he not expect these guys to take major criticism?

All the criticism is just sour grapes. I would trade everyone on our roster and our draft picks for the next 3 years for their squad.

I wouldn't. We're in a lot better spot than people think.

What happens a couple years down the road when the novelty wears off and scrubs want to start getting paid? If they don't get a championship right away.. this is what's going to happen. Plus you're stuck with a bunch of divas for 3 years.

Please do not take this the wrong way... you are an idiot. Sorry, but anyone who would not trade a roster that is going to be competing to just make the playoffs for a roster that has a legitimate shot at a championship and includes two of the top four players in the league is letting his homerism cloud his judgment far too much.

you're talking about getting lebron james, the best player, at 25 years old.
you're talking about getting dwayne wade, a top 3 player, at 29 years old.
you're talking about getting chris bosh, a top 2 PF, at 25 years old.

morey is still searching for ONE superstar with THIS current team. and you're saying we're in a better spot than a team with 2.5 superstars?

you don't worry about the consequences down the line if you can obtain potentially THREE superstars. that's absurd.

[rquoter]"Stan's out there making comments about Chris Bosh being a lap dog to Dwyane Wade," Riley said. "I don't know what happened to some of these guys along the way."[/rquoter]

LOL! It's great to have that line repeated again. Thanks Riley for keeping that out there.

I had to re-read that one myself just to make sure he was actually quoted as saying that. LOL!

I don't understand it at all....

Really, there all were free agents which means they could do whatever they wanted to. They chose to go to the Heat. I'm ok with that, no problem.

Remember, they haven't won and haven't really showed anything. Let's wait and see.

Right now we can talk about the Lakers, back to back champions. That is ALL.

Having James, Bosh and Wade doesn't mean you're winning it all...

Since when was Chris Bosh a top 2 PF?
Duncan and Gasol didn't retire did they?

    And Wade at top 3.....

There hasn't been a single minute of basketball played - not a single second, and already you're calling people out for heresy.

Who should be making comments about judgment?

If I'm a player on any other team in the NBA, I tell myself they haven't won anything until they've won something. The 2011 is just as much the Rockets' as it is the Heat's.

    Wade/Miller/James/Haslem/Bosh

beat out the Lakers best lineup of:

    Fisher/Kobe/Artest/Odom/Haslem

You're talking about trading entire teams? Why not just root for the Miami Heat then? Pat Riley is doing the little damage control required. In a few months a lot of the people who hate Miami will change their minds because of how fearsome the team will be, just like boring bandwagon people who ask you who your favorite player is, and then say theirs is Jordan. This is not news worthy.

Let's say he was right. I don't have a problem with that.

But they HAVEN'T WON anything. That's the maing focus for me.

If they win 2, 3 in a row. Than, we can start talking...

And Wade is probably a top 3 player. If you don't belive, than you should watch game 4 of the 1st round series against the Celtics. I know the Heat lost but Wade was just THE BEST in that game.

Damn, Haslem is such a beast that can play for two teams at the same time.

Edit: Ah, you caught it already.

He's saying Otis Smith doesn't think his max contract player great.

Which is true, but is more a comment on Smith's own performance as GM for getting the best bang for the buck.

Sure doesn't look like that's what he's saying.
