I just want to see Johnson and capela play ...but I am loving that we will play in both leagues this year I wish we did the same last year
It looks like Rockets got two guys that are at least good enough for deep bench in the NBA from undrafted players last season. It may be in the margins, but I fully expect Rockets to try to have as many summer league teams as they can to get first look at some guys.
fwiw, Morey said there are players that went undrafted this year that would have gone in the late first round last year
Excited to see Carson and Brown on our SL roster. Surprised Jabari went undrafted, was a solid 2nd rounder in most mocks.
As a Mizzou fan I was shocked to see Jabari Brown go understated. I've attended multiple Mizzou games last season. He was considered the best SG in the nation by many despite his team not making the NCAA tournament. I personally projected him as a late 1st rounder-mid second rounder. I thought he proved himself all year as he averaged 20ppg and lit up Kentuvky for 33pts. Jabari has improved every at Mizzou. He came in halfway through the 2012-13 season strictly as a spot up shooter(Redshirted FR after transferring). His junior season he really took off. He is a very streaky shooter with range on his shot. He can pull up from mid range and create for himself. I see him still getting better, he's often been compared to Marcus Thorton. He doesn't have elite athleticism but he's crafty around the rim. He had a great dunk on Juluis Randle. Defensively he is medicore at best. I see Jabari as a good shooter off the bench for a team..if the Rockets don't invite him to camp somebody will.
Didn't see much Mizzou last season, but the littler I saw made me think he had a spot on Vipers of he wants it. A lot is going on with Rockets so I don't know if they will have a spot for him or not on roster. If Rockets get big name via free agency, he has a decent chance of making one of the inactive spots.
On the fence. Its either buy the boat I've been saving up for or go to vegas and hold off on the boat. I'm in a real pickle (Ron Burgundy voice)
So are Cannan and Covington not playing in either SL? Can't find anything that says if they will or won't play. I'd assume Cannan would play b/c he didn't play last year in the Orlando SL b/c of a sprained ankle.
Per Feigen, Rockets have not announced what they will do with own players. A lot may or may not happen in next few days.
Awesome thank you. I remember seeing this tweet from Feigen just got to reading this thread and somebody mentioned it. But one would likely assume Cannan and Covington would participate in one of the SL's, right?
Absolutely. Hell, even TJones and Bev participated last year. DMo would have if he wasn't busy with his national team
A big trade may take place where we would need to sign a lot of min. salary players. I guess that's why we're looking at as many new guys that we can. I would presume we already know how Daniels, Canaan and Covington play so we may not need to place them on our SL teams.
