I watched the Batman - Red Mask movie based from the thread started on it here. It was awesome.

I'm currently DL'ing DC's Crisis on Two Earths.

Anyone have any recommendations for the DC/Marvel straight-to-DVD movies (or TV shows) that are good? I like this stuff so any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Red Mask really made me want to feed my inner superhero nerd.

From my other thread you've picked up Crisis which I mentioned, my other 2 favorites are Justice New Frontier and Wonder Woman.

If you really want to watch a lot of DC superhero stuff, I recommend the Justice League / JLU from Bruce Timm.

(Copied from the Red Mask thread where I posed the original question)

Wonder Woman....What? Just "Wonder Woman"? Not "Wonder Woman and [insert superheroish quest/adventure here]?"

Red Mask has been the best one. The rest aren't that great. I liked Planet Hulk as well.

    Green Lantern is good.

Justice League: The New Frontier is great:

make sure you get the "unrated" version of Return of the Joker

these two though are top notch

Recently saw the Green Lantern first flight which wasnt too bad

I have one of the other justice league movies on blu-ray which was pretty good.

I saw the newer justice league movie, the one where it involves multiple universes and there is a "bad" JL and a good lex luthor -- cant remember the name but that wasnt too bad either.

need to see the new batman though thats on the to do list

Yep and to add insult to injury its in those old schoold WB cardbord DVD cases. I agree with you about BB being overlooked, to be honest I think most of Timm's shows have been throughly unappreciated outside of BTAS.

Thanks. All of you get rep. Except YoYo, who I have apparently repped recently.

I did a wiki search of all the available DC/Marvel DVD movies. Thor: Tales from Asgard is coming later at some point. The upcoming movie has rekindled my interest in Norse mythology, which has rekindled my interest in the Marvel character.

And Superman: Apocalypse looks friggin' awesome.

    No problem man, If you like those and wanna take on all of the Timmverse, animated DC universe, I suggust checking out the series in this order;

    Batman: The Animated Series
    Superman: The Animated Series
    Justice League
    Justice League Unlimited
    Batman Beyond

I don't have much to add outside of the DC/Timm stuff recommended. DC's animated movies just dominate Marvel's.

Marvel has been getting better, with the Hulk VS movie and Planet Hulk.

The cgi Iron Man series that came out recently is decent. You can find it on Netflix.

    ah nuts :(

I havent seen too much of superman TAS but the rest of the animated series GRENDAL posted are pure gold. I downloaded them all and have them on my external media drive for the PS3. If you want I still have invites to tvtorrents which I can give you to DL them, its a great source for tv shows but it has a credit-based ratio system. msg me through the board i'll shoot one over your way.

yeah i hate those cases I was thinking of buying them but declined I was tempted to buy the entire BTAS set link, but its hard for me to justify paying that much money for a dvd set that I know I may not watch too often.

    Another DC movie:

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Qe9evYaBZ9M&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Qe9evYaBZ9M&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

I saw this one too and it was not too bad but not as good as the other featured length movies though

You should check out a book called War of the Gods. GREAT, easy to read, short fictionalized account of a lot of Norse/Viking mythology. Highly recommended.
