    One of these days, hopefully sooner than later, we will reach a tipping point in this country where a majority of people will be brave enough to face this question head-on:

    What is more important - kowtowing before the almighty terrifying god of political-correctness, where nary a negative word can ever be said about anyone, especially if there are any sort of exempt groups involved? Or, demanding virtue, demanding standards of decency in words and deeds, and putting social pressure on those who defy those standards?

    I am not talking about government.

    I am talking about the social consciousness of our entire nation.

    In a way, it is a good thing to see such outraged backlash against these types of abysmal displays of unacceptable behavior.

    On the other hand, how have we allowed our society to become one in which this sort of thing could have ever happened in the first place?

    We are reaping what we have sown, and eventually either the ship will turn back onto the right and proper course, or it will simply capsize and the whole thing will just sink, vanish, and be destroyed, forgotten, yet another human failure.

    I wish I had more optimism about which outcome seems more likely.

    Today's society, including parents, is too wrapped up in bad literature and horrible reality TV to raise their children with any sense of right and wrong. That or they are too lazy to enforce it.

    cause
    1. She cannot smack the **** out of them . . . she goes to jail
    2. She says something vicious to the little pricks. . . now she is the bad guy . .the adult who should 'know better'
    3. She has no real authority to do anything to punish them at all

    The kids have all the power . . .they know it. . . they use it . . .

    She smacked on of those little punks across the face [or a belt across the ass]
    This issue is effectively resolved never to show its ilk again . . .
    but
    alas. .. . we prefer to sit around and act all concerned . . . like we really have an interest in trying to prevent something like this
    we do not really

    As I have notice more and more
    we want the kids to be good . . .for goodness sake
    but give them no incentive to be so . . . and definately no disincentive to NOT do evil isht.
