Arguing how much people get vs corporations get, I don't have an issue with. It's pandemic related and there are arguments to be had for which groups gets how much. imo both need relief because both people and companies are essential. corporate money isn't a slush fund imo. we are in an extreme situation and that will require trust imo. we have to trust corporations, to use the money to the best of their abilities. we cannot assume they are "evil" and trying to enrich themselves. being "rich" doesn't matter during a pandemic imo. Agreeing on an amount, then later saying it's not enough, I have a big issue with. That's politicking with peoples lives. Dems are doing that. Arguing for items/provisions that have nothing to do with pandemic, I have a big issue with. Dems are doing that. You are ignoring these facts and focusing on corporate rescue funds only. Be 100% honest with all key points. FYI..., I'm also independent.
Does funding an abstinence-only program qualify? Fairly certain it wasn't the left that threw it in there...
So basically you just have an issue with Dems..... You know what that's your prerogative, but as I stated... It's like a marriage it takes 2 make it work right and 2 make it go wrong... So if you only see the Dems politizing things, then there is nothing no one can show you, tell you are prove to you other than that... Now am I saying Dems are innocent in this whole thing? Nope.. But the Repubs are not saints themselves... T_Man
you replied but didn't address the sticking points of the deal at all. i did, which shows you and everyone else that i'm non-partisan in my criticism of these negotiations. i'm sticking with facts and how they deal with the negotiations and the pandemic period.
Sticking point to who? So the GOP gets to craft a bill by themselves and anything democrats want or dont accept is a sticking point?
1. Repubs are refusing to add stronger worker protection and the language in the bill is vague enough that Corporations can take the federal help and still fire workers.. 2. The bill increases the corporate bailout fund to $500 billion 3. Bill has a 2 trillion slush fund for Mnuchin.. The bill should be for the PEOPLE... This bill is for Corporates.. the same as the new taxes... T_Man
I agree they do.... But that Bill is helping the corporation and does little to help the people... T_Man
Why isn't Trump calling the leaders in and making a deal? He's the GREAT deal maker... So with this package, the company gets the money from congress.... Then they can get buybacks and still fire the people... How do the people win???? So no matter what the people are screwed??? I totally agree with Mark Cuban, don't just give them the money.. Have them borrow the money and NO BUY BACKS!!! T_Man
So here's the deal... Everyone knows the people need the help..... So make the bill about the PEOPLE... Slim line the bill and make it as thin as possible without any crap from any side.... T_Man
So are the Republicans still including funding for abstinence education? Can you tell me how that helps the American worker?
Not if they spend the aid on stock buybacks. Hence why Dems want to place restrictions on what the companies can spend their aid packages on.
It can help the people, yes. Giving a company a chunk of money or a bailout does not necessarily help its workers, pending what leadership decides to do.
