Brings back sad memories of Yao's retirement ... There's really something about the water in Phoenix.
Here's to keeping this thread all about the HOFer and incredibly beautiful player to watch. I wonder how much a toll to his body his fearless probing of the lane and subsequent cheap shots took on his longevity. He was/is as fearless as AI, who also suffered the consequences. Only player besides Bird to have multiple 50-40-90 seasons. Nitwitz came close last year to matching them.
=( . one of the greatest players of our generation. nobody deserves to go out like that, not while lifting a bag.
damn straight HeyP, Nash was a basketball savant...... his decision making, the dribbling under the ring and out and the passing was amazing and damn the guy could shoot..... the guy worked so hard and got everything out of the talent he had, one of my favourite players to watch of all time, the D'Antoni system was certainly great and the cast around him talented but only Nash could have made it work, his two MVPs at his peak was great recognition, and its been sad watching him work so hard these past few years to try to overcome his body breaking down.....
That's what rookies are for! Too bad it has to end this way. Look forward to your induction into the HOF
And even with all the hits he took (I lost a huge amt of respect for Horry on the playoff one) he still had a long career I think his underrated athleticism and body control help him take all those hits without breaking down earlier
he was sneaky fast, and yes work on his core, footwork, balance and of course his diet was ahead of the curve..... if it was anything but a nerve problem, i would have assumed his hard work would overcome it.....
One of the all time greats: Spoiler <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/tdNiXidfLcc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Here's some pictures for the memories of the hits Steve Nash took, with really no whining at all. <img src="http://www.interbasket.net/news/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/steve-nash-bloodied.jpg" width=400> <img src="http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/363784/nash.jpg" width=400> <img src="http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2007/05/07/sports/07nash.190.1.jpg" width=400> still bleeding profusely going to his car after the game <img src="http://uproxx.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/nash1.jpg" width=400> <img src="http://www.makingpages.org/hoops/nash.tooth.jpg" width=400> You can't be afraid of going head first into the lane <img src="http://a.espncdn.com/media/nba/2001/0125/photo/a_nash_i.jpg" width=400> and then the Onion article <img src="http://cdn2.tauntr.com/sites/default/files/NashNoBlood.jpg" width=400>
His MVP Suns teams were easily my favorite non-Rockets squads. He forever changed the NBA despite his athletic shortcomings. I really hope he decides to coach
