"Walter Isaacson, who wrote the forthcoming Jobs bio, reportedly reveals that Jobs argued that Obama was jeopardizing his re-election prospects because of what Jobs took to be a pervasive anti-business climate in his administration. Jobs cited excessive federal regulations and operating costs for businesses as harmful legacies of the Obama White House."

Another example of one of the most dynamic companies in the world that makes me proud and us wealthier to be Americans. They employ around 50,000 people as well and Jobs, a long-time liberal states this administration has an anti-business climate and excessive federal regulations.

I'm sure Wall Street traders would love Cap and Trade. They can't lever up and trade CDO's with crappy insurance anymore so they need a new game. They would love to be able to rule this market and arbitrage their way through foolishly put together government policy forcing companies to spend billions that go to Wall Street at the expense of the consumer.

But isn't it telling that one of the great minds that took a company worth only a few billion a decade ago and made it into the one of the biggest companies in the world and the standard for innovation. Its innovators like him that will keep the US as the leading power in the world.

If they believe that their government is against them and confining them, then shouldn't we listen??

Of course, he also wanted Obama to win re-election and be President past 2012. Should we listen to that part too?

Although Jobs was critical of Obama's policies, he still supported him over republicans even going so far as to offer to design ads for Obama's 2012 re-election campaign. (according to Isaacson)

Oops! Major beat me too it!

He also wanted Obama to listen to CEOs... but not too many CEOs, apparently. And he wanted to create ads for Obama, but wanted to be in totla control of it. And he wanted to meet Obama, but wanted Obama to personally ask to meet him. He seemed more interested in being important than anything else.

    From the link above:

Though his wife told him that Obama "was really psyched to meet with you," Jobs insisted on the personal invitation, and the standoff lasted for five days. When he finally relented and they met at the Westin San Francisco Airport, Jobs was characteristically blunt. He seemed to have transformed from a liberal into a conservative.

After laying into the White House's purported anti-business outlook, Jobs offered to help Obama repair the rift by arranging meeting between the president and a group of CEOs. When the guest list began to grow, Jobs reportedly resolved to back out of the gathering. Instead, he attended, though he poo-pooed the fancy menu. "But he was overruled by the White House, which cited the president's fondness for cream pie," Huffington Post writes.

Jobs also offered to to help create political ads for the president in 2012. Jobs had scotched a similar effort to craft Obama ads in 2008, when Isaacson claims that Jobs was unhappy that Obama strategist David Axelrod showed insufficient deference to the Apple honcho.

Steve jobs is a pretty liberal guy. Steve Jobs is an ass to work with and for. He had a huge ego and was a complete control freak.

But he was also one of the greatest innovators of our generation. Innovators like him and Apple create products for the world that brings wealth back to America. He helped create hundreds of billions of wealth, thousands and thousands of jobs and created premium price products that people were willing to spend on during a trying recession.

I personally saw a lady split the $200 cost of an Iphone 4s on three credit cards when I picked mine up!

As liberal as the guy is, when he says the administration has an Anti-Business climate and regulations that impair job growth, we should listen.

Again, he said Obama should be re-elected. Should we listen to that too?

Actually he was not an innovator at all, he was a guy who took something others created and made it better.

IIRC, Everything Apple is famous for was created already by someone else.

What jobs was good at, was making it cool, and easily accessible for the masses, but he was NOT an inventor.

Who says taking something, repackaging it, coming up with new ways to use it, making it better and pretty isnt innovation?

Seems like innovation to me since others were not able to do it and only copy his ideas after he made it successful
