Get better players. Green, Williams, Melo, Ennis are all nothing burgers, at worst we should have ONE of these guys playing 15 mpg in our rotation, not all 4 getting real consistent minutes. We need a backup big, we need some wing defenders, and we need a backup PG for times like this without CP3. Thats 4 holes, we’ll see if anybody can step up or what moves Morey will make by the deadline.
I think ennis has looked ok. he's a guy that gonna look better and better the less you ask him to do . Once he gets into his role and Clint picks up the rebounding slack ... I think our starters will be fine .
Tucker a 33 yr old will be run into the ground, already playing 37 minutes every game. Tucker already started every game.
1) Let go of the hubris that we can make any pieces fit on this team because of Harden/CP. Purge the players that dont fit. We overlooked team chemistry with our off-season moves. We need to get it back. 2) Get players that do fit and space the floor well. Or play players that might contribute. For example, I would start giving Clark some minutes to see what he is made of. We need to try something else because what we are doing right now does not look good and frankly does not have a high ceiling. Act early instead of persisting with it and wasting further time. 3) We need GOOD defensive players. Defense is king. We have lost our defensive identity and it is going to bite us in the ass come playoff time. BTW, I do think Rockets will look better half way through the season but unfortunately that is not going to be enough. Like I said, my biggest concern with this team is that it has a low ceiling.
Get back to quick offense, run some sets, get people engaged so maybe they will want to play defense. Tucker needs to defend more than just 2 minutes at the end. If we are small like we are we should box the f out and not just let anybody get offensive rebounds on us
