I think he's fiegning ignorance to try to be funny but what does it say about you as a journalist when you don't know who one of the best rookies from last season? A guy who could be in the running for Most Improved this season. Hell, I'm just a casual fan and I 'm pretty sure I know the starting five for all 30 teams.

After the first Knicks game, SAS on ESPN talked about Parsons and said along the lines that the Knicks made him look like Larry Bird with that big game Chandler had. So he was basically continuing the diss before this game. He's done this with many players that he disses, one that comes to mind is Rasho Nesterovic, kept dissing him whenever the name is brought up.

He stated "Lin is a career backup." Proved wrong.

Then he stated "Lin is a marginal player" at the height of linsanity, was humuliated on TV by Tim Legler.

Now he's kissing Lin's arse? He must be desperate.

pay no attention. This is the same guy who after dissing Lin for his 3-year 25 mill contract, went out and congratulated javele mcgee for a 4 years 44 million dollar contract!!!
Yes, McGee who doesnt even get to start and is good for 11 pts, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 bone-head plays a game is getting 11 mill a year. Getting an extra year and 19 million more than Lin, but you want hear SAS criticize him.

    ESPN is so sad.

Their "analysts" don't know all the players.

    Pathetic!

If Smith has decided not to do his job then he should at least try to fake it. His job is to provide analysis and apparently all he did was look at the box score from last game.

How about you watch the tape of the game and explain how/why Parsons was able to get those points? That's the job. My mother can read a box score.

Smith has known he is to provide analysis for this game for at least a day ( I assume). You think it's appropriate for him to not know the starting small forward for the team he is providing analysis for?

btw I and many others on this board can rattle off 95% of the starters in this league and it isn't even our job.

Is there a link to SAS talking above? He's a comedian rather than a journalist. He would make a good minister.

SAS is unfortunately playing up to his audience. But we shouldn't take him seriously. Because if he were serious with his Parsons comment, then SAS is even more of a joke than I thought.

Copeland is a rookie, who unlike Parsons hasn't made the all rookie team like Parsons last year....

The issue really isn't SAS not knowing who he is, it's him purposely belittling the Rox even tho his team gets smashed on everytime they play each other with or without Melo.

    S A S is an A S S.

not sure why YOU are making this about race, instead of SAS just being a dumb ass.
