This + I would appoint you the new GM. If we win the Championship this year I will also buy you a T-mac Rockets jersey, authentic of course.

I would prefer a Brooks all-star jersey signed by DaDakota.

    (kiddin DD ;) ).

nash is going to the lakers for expiring contracts and rookies. the lakers are going to get a group that will play solid ball for the next four years before they start rebuilding. i see nash giving the lakers at least two good years, by that time, kobe gasol odom would all be slowing down to even keep up with the young guns of the west or the heat.

    Nash's production is 24.6 compared to his opponent's 11.8.
Stats-wise that's one of the best in the league, jus' sayin.

All they've got to do is add the same level of lotto protection as the 2012 pick and they can trade it.

I'd give up Martin & Brooks for Nash & Gortat. Maybe even for Nash & Lopez. Nash is just that good.

Jeffries, Brooks, Martin, future 1st rounder for Nash, Gortat, Pietrus.

not sure if they can add a level of protection to another teams pick if its already protected. and they already traded their own protected 2012 pick.

Phoenix could get way more for Nash, not happening.

We don't need Pietrus and honestly we don't have to surrender Martin in any deal with Phoenix. Brooks, Jeffries, and Lee would probably get you Nash and I doubt that Phoenix would trade Gortat since he isn't that overpaid and decent Center's are hard to come by but I think we would ultimately overpay for Gortat. Lopez would be the less risky option and probably could get done straight up for Hill.

No they won't. He's 37. Yeah he's good but Nash wants to go to a contendor. If the contender has to give its pieces for Nash then there's no point.

Why would a team with good draft picks get Nash unless they're a playoff team?

I replied to the Jeffries, Brooks, Martin, future 1st rounder for Nash, Gortat, Pietrus.
    That is just not happening.

What in the world makes you believe that quote? Amare was good before Nash and is playing at an MVP level with out Nash.

    False.

The Rockets are currently not GUARANTEED a 2012 first round pick. The Knicks' pick is top-5 protected, and the Rockets' own pick to New Jersey is only lottery-protected. That means that, in 2012, if the Knicks get a top-5 pick and the Rockets make the playoffs, the Rockets WILL NOT have a first round pick.

Due to the "Ted Stepien Rule", a team CANNOT be without a first round pick in two consecutive future drafts.

This means that, if the Rockets trade their 2011 first round pick (regardless of protection), unless they go out first and acquire another UNPROTECTED 2011 first round pick, the Rockets would not be GUARANTEED a first round pick in either 2011 or 2012.

Hence, as it stands now, the Rockets CANNOT trade their 2011 first rounder, regardless of protection.

Just Nash alone would be a wasted move.

He's going to decline very soon.

i understand what you are saying about his age, but its probably worth pointing out that little of his game is predicated on athletic ability, or abilities which typically decline with age. His game is about court vision and shooting. i really think he will play well past what traditionally is the age of decline.
