One thing to consider is the offensive prowess / age combo of Harden.

Melo might be looking at LeBron's situation where Wade is breaking down as his offensive sidekick. Harden and Parsons would give Melo two guys who can score and allow him to take his foot off the gas as he goes through the early 30s.

I can't see why he'd go to chicago to win....Who knows how Rose will respond going forward. It would be a huge risk for Melo, and even with Rose, they're still missing another impact player.

Mavs could be a realistic option, if he wants to win AND be the #1 guy. I'm not sure what their cap situation is though..

We actually have a pretty good shot.

I would love to see Melo here, but just curious if anyone knows why the chemistry hasn't worked out with Stoudemire and Chander? I thought that was supposed to be a big 3 that would contend.

I can't imagine that he'd think higher of a handicapped Rose, or a 36 year old Dirk.

I get where you're coming from, but come on..... don't oversell the Bulls and Mav's.

Dallas is super old and the Bulls best player hasn't played in a year, and might not even be the same player he used to be when he comes back.

Keep in mind, Melo will be signing a pretty long contract, so not only does he have to think of the present, but also the future.

The Rockets have by far the most bright future of those three teams.

That's only because he lives and works in Dallas, just like Ric Bucher recently wrote an article about Kevin Love going to the Warriors (because he lives and works in Oakland)

I think melo stays put. Bulls rose are risky, harden doesn't want a 3rd star only wants minor moves.

And lebron, love, melo, durant 2016, etc goes to NY in 2015...

Love just clarified my opinion & said he's interested in NY & said any free agent would want to go play there.

--- this is why told u guys harden coming out saying we don't need a 3rd star will put Morey in a bind... lebron, love, melo, rondo Etc are more than open to playing with other ball dominate players. Please believe their agents have heard these harden comments also and will put Houston's big potential big 3 as a last option, unless harden and Howard reach out to them. but harden has already said how he really feels.

Yeah why would Melo trade one lotto team for another. The Mavs are old and another year older. Are their locker room towels really that nice?

Niether of those guys could stay on the floor... plus Amare and Melo was a train wreck form the start.

Why would he want to go to the Bulls, if he was wants to win. Thib is a great coach and Noah is a great player, no doubt but other than that, the Bulls don't have much. If Melo chose the Bulls, they would be a good team but they won't challenge the Heat.

Then there is the Rose situation. If Rose was healthy and playing like a MVP, then the Bulls would be the no brainer choice for Melo and could easily beat anyone in the league. But, he isn't. Which is a major problem. If Melo was serious about winning and winning soon, the Bulls won't be a serious contender for his services. It would be too much like the Knicks' situation with Amare and his knee problems; wondering if he would play one game or another or even be healthy for the season.

Dallas would be interesting, but even with adding Melo, Dallas is still not the best team in the West or even the league. They would probably be somewhere between 3-5 in the West and that's if Dirk holds up.

Rockets would be the best choice. Somewhat young superstars, good players on cheap salaries, and a GM that can build the right team around his stars.

yet they won more playoff games than us this year and they were playing the future NBA champs... while we were playing a team that got wrecked by the same eventual NBA champs.

Chicago can't open enough space to sign Anthony. Here's an article from the Chicago Tribune describing their options. They can amnesty Boozer, dump Gibson and Dunleavy for nothing and they still only have $14M in cap space. They'd end up with Anthony, Noah and whatever Rose has left and they'd be capped out.

As far as Dallas, I don't thnk the fact that Dirk and Marion each have 1 ring is going to give them an advantage.

Love is not coming here. Rockets don't have the assets to acquire him and they know that.

We do have our work for us because:

    1. Bulls with Thibs, Noah and Rose (and CHG) would be enticing
    2. He'd have to take $30M less (not factoring taxes, etc.) to leave NY
    3. Maybe he wants to wait and year and team with LeBron
    4. Dallas has a great organization and has won recently

However, Rose has two major surgeries, and Bulls (Gibson or Butler or both) and Dallas would lose some of their players listed to get Melo. We wouldn't (we'd lose Asik/Lin/picks).
